The big 40 m² apartment (old building, built in 1892) with an additional garden (110 m² ) located in the heart of the south part of Cologne (Südstadt).
The 2 two-room apartment has a living room with kitchen (including cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher), bedroom (bunk bed / 2nd level, large desk), bathroom with shower / toilet, floor and is fully furnished.
The large garden is a real rarity in the center of Cologne. My beloved 'green oasis' with barbecue, table and hammock is at your own disposition. You might even get to know 'Gertrude', a squirrel, what comes around daily for a high five ;)
The flat has 2 TVs with cable (living room and bedroom) and UNLIMITED Internet access (WLAN). The style of the apartment represents a charming blend of French Baroque and modern loft.
Just 2 minutes walk away is the „Severinstraße“ (lots of supermarkets: Aldi, Kaiser, Rewe, etc.) and the RHINE ☺ and „Rheinauhafen“! The station "Clodwigplatz" (line 15/16) and "Severinskirche" (Bus 132, 133) are also in close proximity and just a few steps away from the apartment. You’ll will get to the Dom / HBF with both bus lines in (website hidden) MESSE (Cologne fair) is also easily reached due to the good public transport connections.
The Roden Kirchner beach is only 10 minutes by bike.
The south part the south of Cologne (Kölner Südstadt) is one of the oldest and most fashionable districts of Cologne and „the place to be“ for the Cologne Carnival. The charm of the area owes the 'Veedel' the numerous cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, cinemas and many galleries.

Kat was an excellent host. She communicated all information in a timely manner, and was available for questions by phone even though she was out of town. Creative people and artistic types (including my wife Karen) love this eclectic apartment and all the art books and magazines. The apartment is situated on a back street and was very comfortable and quiet. The backyard provided a nice sanctuary.
Kat was a very open minded host ( and artist) and a nice person to talk to, too! Communication was easy and quick, very open and honest.
The apartment with garden is indeed lovely and clean and my wife and me almost didn't want to leave after two weeks there....The Südstadt is -this is at least our opinion- the most diverse and nice part of Cologne... Like a small village in comparison to other cities, but very lively and creative ( lots of places with live music, good restaurants, parks beer gardens, museums..) There is much to do and see in Cologne, one of the oldest cities in Germany with over 2000 years of history. Try to move around on bicycle ! Who needs a car in this city when you have legs and a good and safe public transport system!
We will definitely stay with Kat again in the future - and invited her and partner to visit us in Colombia as well....most welcome.
My husband and I stayed at Kats apartment and we loved it. Picking up the keys to her place was easy and simple and the apartment is close by. The apartment is in a great location such as it is near the metro, a variety of restaurants and bars. It is also only a 10 minute walk to the chocolate museum and 15 minutes to the cathedral. Arriving at Kats apartment there was wine when we arrived and there were books and pamphlets on places to see in Cologne. Kat also gave us a list of places that she recommended too. Staying in her apartment was very relaxing and we felt like we were home. There is so much light in the apartment and I loved the decor in Kats place. The garden area was lovely to and we had the chance to sit outside for a bit. Even though we didn't meet, Kat was very helpful and kind. With every question or concern I had, Kat responded quickly and was so sweet too. I would definitely stay here again.
If you do drive to Cologne, I recommend parking at the Rheinauhafen garage and since we were there for 3 days, we got a week parking pass for €40 which is cheaper than €22 for 24 hours. Kat suggested Rheinauhafen parking garage to me.
Had a great weekend in cologne which was made better by this lovely and cosy flat. Kat was very helpful with getting us there safely and even though she could not meet us had left great instructions for getting the keys. She had left us some useful info on the local area and wine too which was lovely!
Location wise its about a fifteen minute walk along the river to the Cathedral which was perfect for us and is close to some lovely little bars, restaurants (email hidden) selling nice cheese on the Friday!
Would recommend this to anyone.
Kat's flat is located in one of the old most typical parts of Cologne - called Südstadt. I enjoyed my time (four days) there. That flat is clean, nice and full of light. I particulary liked the view from the main room towards the tiny streets. The commuciation with Kat was easy. I can recommend to (email hidden).
Kat (email hidden), very supportive and friendly, she made our stay comfortable, and we felt treated not only as guests but as friends. Communication with Kat was easy. Her apartment is stylish, the kitchen has everything we needed. Too bad it was too cold to enjoy the garden. We would very much like to come again.
Kat is uncomplicated and fast in Communication,
helpful in all respects.
The flat was as i had expected.
Clean, nice, cozy and a big desk to work.
Unfortunately i have used the garden, which is great, only once.
The neighborhood is great within walking distance many bars and restaurants.
I stayed at Kats apartment for 2 weeks in July-August and now I can say it was my best Airbnb experience. From the beginning, when we started to communicate, Kat was very supportive, she answered my questions very quickly, was very polite and charming. Kat leaved me her bike, and it was very helpful, I used it very often during my stay. On arrival I saw in the flat bottles of wine that Kat leaved me as a present and food in fridge)! So, even Kat was not there and we didn’t meet personally, I felt very welcomed. The flat was incredibly cozy, stylish, clean, and quiet. Everything inside worked perfectly. The bed was very comfortable. The apartment was exactly as described, but also you feel magic aura and wonderful atmosphere there that makes this place very special!!!). For sure, Kat put heart and soul into her flat, she loves this place and you feel it.
It was very hot in Cologne during my stay, so I slept with open windows in the sleeping room and I was awakening with bird singing in the garden!). When it was very hot outside, in the flat there was cool and comfortable.
At night, in the garden, you can see stars shining in the sky)! Very romantic)!
I discovered the great music (CDs of Kat Frankie, whom I felt in love immediately with))! Also I could use TV, DVD player. There many books and films there.
The location is great! The bus stop is in 3 minutes’ walk. Shopping, cafes, restaurants, nice park - everything you need is near.
Kate was in touch with me throughout my entire stay to make sure that I had everything I needed and that everything was working properly.
Kat is amazing host and very interesting, sensitive and creative person. I would definitely recommend the apartment to anyone planning a visit to Cologne. And I will miss my magic holydays there!))))) Thank you, Kat.
Kat was a wonderful and relaxed host and we loved to (email hidden). Her apartment was very charming and very good located in a nice part of Cologne. We loved the wonderful garden that makes part of her apartment and all the lovely and cozy details of her interior design. The communication was great: friendly, quick return on messages and mails and a cool (email hidden) is a pity that we didn't have enough time to get to know each other better. Thank you so much for your hospitality and we hope to see you again...in Cologne or in Berlin ;-)

Kat (email hidden)! She met us at the apartment and showed us everything we might need to know about the apartment.
We had previously shared with Kat that we were to be married that weekend, there was a bottle of bubbly and two glasses waiting on the bed for us. A lovely touch!!
I have nothing negative to say about our experience. Kat (email hidden) situated within a beautiful, central location of Koln.
