I stayed in Jason's apartment for 92 days. It was my first airbnb, and I felt lucky that he took a chance on me. The apartment is like you see in the photos - well laid out, comfortable, modern, feels high-end. It's a nice sized apartment for a 1 bedroom. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and also felt high end. A nice tall shower for taller people like me.
There isn't any AC, and if your body temp runs warm like mine does, you'll need to keep the windows open. This is fine but the street the apartment looks out onto is fairly busy with traffic, so it's not necessarily the quietest apartment. But it honestly didn't bother me and I was able to sleep even with windows open. Also, it gets much colder at night, so I would keep the bedroom sliding glass door closed and the living room windows cracked and that was perfect temp wise and sound wise.
There isn't a ton of dresser drawers for clothes, just a few shelves and a couple drawers in the closet. It worked out fine tho I did end up using the closet floor to stack up some jeans and pants. I also brought way too much with me!
Whenever I had issues - left my keys in the apartment, fridge didn't seem to work - Jason was very responsive and worked diligently and quickly to address any issue that arose.
You can trust this guy - and you'll feel comfortable and at home in his lovely apartment. Highly recommend - would happily return.
Me and my wife stayed at Jason's for a month as our temporary apartment after relocating to San Francisco from abroad.
First let me start by praising the apartment location - it's located in the center of the city, walking distance to Market street, public transportation and the highways, shops, banks, galleries, restaurants etc...
basically, most of our settling in chores were done by walking (bank, USCIS, car rental, car buying, groceries, ... )
the apartment itself has everything that we needed, it's well designed, contains all needed appliances, parking (additional cost), apple TV with NetFlix and Hulu+, beautiful furniture and is in the most secured building I have ever seen.
Most importantly - Jason himself is a class AAA host, he provided us with much useful information about the city and transportation, as my wife doesn't drive, and was available to us, with a smile, for any question we had as SF newbies.
he also helped us with our apartment search, and gave our new landlord very good recommendations about us, which helped a lot in landing our new fabulous place.
to sum up - we would more than recommend anyone coming to SF to make use of Jason's awesome apartment, especially if you're planing to stay long term. it felt like home away from home.
Jason Rand is the perfect host. And his hospitality, infectious smile, and generous demeanor made me and my partner feel at ease in his home.
His home is perfectly located at the crossroads of San Francisco from which you can easily navigate to some great food, destinations, and neighborhoods. Jason's pad is particularly great if you're a foodie as it is within walking distance to 2013 James Beard Rising Star Chef winner's restaurant, Danny Bowien's Mission Chinese Food; or a brief 20-minute bus ride to James Beard Best New Restaurant winner State Bird Provisions.
I hope that Jason's apartment is available during my next SFO sojourn.
Great little apartment. Very clean, well decorated and functional. It was perfect for my business trip and his kitchen table was just what I needed for collaborating with my colleague. The walking distance to Hayes Valley was also ideal.
Jason is a great host - very communicative and helpful. The apartment is clean and spacious and while the precise block is a bit sparse it is close to a lot. No air conditioning can make it warm during the day and I'm not sure there was cable TV, but the building and apartment are great and quiet, modern and comfortable, I'd definitely stay there again!
We had a great time at Jason's place. It was clean, spacey, bright and even has a little balcony. Conveniently located, we managed to get quickly to the places we had want. It is not far from Tram nr. F, which goes to touristy Market Street, Ferry Building and Fisherman's Wharf. But more important it is close to Valencia Street with plenty of good restaurants. Jason was a great host. He had explained everything and we were able to ask him whenever we had a question.
This is my second time staying at Jason's apt. And hopefully won't be my last. Highly recommend.
I live in San Francisco and work in the tech industry. I'm an avid runner - ran my first marathon in January 2012! I enjoy traveling, spending time with family, skiing, and exploring San Francisco.
I'm a Bay Area native and I have a bit of East Coast in me thanks to attending Colgate University.
