I really enjoy stay Lavinia, clean, quiet, uncluttered, and comfortable room .The first day when I check in was too early but I got the key before 1 o'clock ,I am very (email hidden)vinia more like stay Private Apartment ,The surrounding area is really peaceful, and getting into the city centre from there is very convenient.only a 5 minute walk to subway (email hidden)e day I leaving they even help me call a taxi with regret and a promise to Seoul that I will return and stay Lavinia for sure!
I much appreciated the 3 days of my stay in Seoul at Lavinia. The room, while small, was sufficient for my needs. It was clean and quiet, and the staff was very helpful in giving directions to venues using the metro and airport bus. I hope to stay at Lavinia again in a future visit.
I love the hostel. One of the best hostel that I stayed in Seoul. It is located near Anguk Station Exit 4. The English instructions are not very clear, so you're better off following the below.
The banana backpackers are on the same building with Lavinia.
The airport bus will stop you in near exit 6 at the police station but walk towards the gas station. Once you are at the police station, look across and you'll see a police booth. The police booth is actually blocking exit 4 sign.
From there onwards, just followed the map. It will not take you more than 10 minutes to get there.
The room and bathroom was spacious and clean. Got a double bed room instead of the single room I booked, and got the room right at the front of the entrance where the elevator was. I asked if there were any other rooms because I read about the sound proofing issue, but there were no more rooms. I kind of wondered what happened to the single room I confirmed upon booking. Vicky, who is Sharon's sister, met me at the lobby and throughout my 3 night stay she was kind and helpful. Sometimes Vicky's mom was there instead, she was nice too, but spoke little English. I am used to sleeping on firm beds, but this bed was pretty hard, not too comfortable, but got used to it. The soundproofing is very poor, so people don't have to be loud for you to hear them in general. The location is very central and close to all major attractions. The closest airport bus stop is actually Changdeok Palace Stop on Bus 6011, the one after Anguk Subway. TThe bus ride is about 1 hour, and it's pretty convenient, just like the location. The building has an elevator and is in the same building as Banana Backpackers. There are lots of affordable mom and pop restaurants closeby as well as more expensive ones in Insadong which is within walking distance. Overall a fine place, but because of the bed and sound issue, I might try another hostel in this area next time.
I stayed at Lovely Lavinia for over a week. It provides a perfect location for your stay in Seoul. It lies just between the main tourist attractions. Quite a bunch oft them are in walking distance. Lots of shops and restaurants are around the corner. In short walking distance (I would guess 500m) are serveral subway stations. The staff is helpful and very friendly. I had a late check-in which went perfectly well. The rooms are a little light on sound isolation - you can hear doors and sometimes voices of the other guests, but this was nerver a problem, because at night all went silent. The city noise turns down at night as well, so you can sleep with the window open, if you like an open window more then the a/c. I had a great time there, I can definitely recommend Lovely Lavinia.
Had the place for a week, very clean and neat. Nearby to Anguk Station, Highly recommended stay!
The room was very comfortable and the guesthouse is in a very nice location. It's a short walk to the metro station and sights like Changdeokgung palace, Bukchon Hanok village, Samcheongdong (one of my favorite areas in Seoul) and Insadong. There are many restaurants and cafes in these areas. A dry-cleaner is just around the corner. What more do you need? The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and had a good time.
