Our 2800 sq ft.home is 20 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge, 30 minutes to downtown Sonoma, 30 minutes to Berkeley and an hour from the Napa Valley. It is an ideal location for people attending conferences at the Marin Civic Center. There is plenty of street parking and hiking trails right out the door. We are walking distance to a small shopping center with a great market, several restaurants, Yoga studio, ice cream, a post office and nail salons. There's an abundant Farmer's Market nearby at Frank Lloyd Wright's Civic Center on Thursdays and Sundays. The city of San Rafael is just 10 min. away by car and offers an independent movie theater and lots of restaurants and bars. The house is a short drive away from Sausalito, Mill Valley, Larkspur, Novato and Petaluma.
There is a cat who resides in the home.
Although there is public bus transportation into SF walking distance from our home, it only runs during rush hour. There are other buses to the Ferry and to the San Rafael bus terminal where you can transfer to other buses. However, having a car would be preferable for getting around as the buses do not run very often.
The cleaning fee is $25 for stays of up to two weeks. I am no longer offering monthly stays. Two weeks is the max.
We only accept guests who have completed their Airbnb profile. So we ask that you please do this before you contact us. When you respond, please include enough information about you, your travel plans, etc. so we can get an idea of who we will be inviting to our home.
Interaction with Guests
I have moderate interaction with my guests as they are usually out and about. However, I work out of my home so I am here and available to answer questions or share a meal together.
It is best to have a car.
We hope you enjoy your stay here. We put in a lot of effort to keep our home clean and tidy and would expect the same from our guests. This is a non-smoking home (both inside and out) and no pets are allowed. We do have a cat so if you have allergies, this would not be the best place for you. Please feel free to watch TV or listen to music but would appreciate quiet after 10:00pm. This is not a good home for heavy drinkers and loud parties. The cleaning fee is $25 for stays of up to two weeks which is the maximum stay. No overnight guests. Use of the washer and dryer is OK for stays of 6 nights or more. I no longer am offering my space on a monthly basis.
Nancy is a beautiful delightful thoughtful wonderful host. She made you feel very welcome even before you set foot in her lovely home -- by sending longlist of enquiries about your breakfast preferences. Everything is just as described or pictured. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and easy-parking. The room is large, clean and tidy, also the bed is extremely comfortable. Did take Nancy's advice on nearby hiking (Phoenix Lake) and daily shopping (Scotty's Market), they are so good. Thank you Nancy and Amara. Usually I would recommend such nice place to everyone, but this time, no, this is something I should keep it to myself :)
I had a great time at Nancy's-it was perfect. A very beautiful place,a store nearby to grocery shop at and a friendly hostess. The room I stayed in was large, comfortable and very nice indeed with a private bathroom-who could ask for anything more? I would absolutely stay agin--Thanks so much Nancy and say hi to Noodle the cat :)
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Nancy in her lovely home. The bedroom is large, including a sofa and desk. The private bathroom was recently redecorated, with plenty of room for my things, and I enjoyed the heater each morning during my shower. The neighborhood is quiet, and near a park, a nice area to walk in the evenings. I stayed with Nancy while attending a workshop during the day. Nancy was friendly and helpful. She contacted me before my arrival, asking what I wanted for breakfast and had everything according to my very specific requests. I would definitely recommend a stay with Nancy in her home.
Nancy is a gracious, informative and relaxed host. I loved my room, lots of space and the couch was the added perk. Nancy's home is beautiful and a quiet place to sleep. I give my experience a 10!! My next visit to Marin I will definitely call Nancy, as now I found the perfect fit for me.
Nancy is a friendly and thoughtful host, she made us feel very welcome. She provided breakfast breads, coffee, juice and fresh fruit.
The room was great, large with a desk and sitting area, the bed was comfortable, we loved the great flannel sheets. Everything was clean and attractively furnished. The neighborhood is very quite yet close to attractions in SF, Marin and Sonoma. We enjoyed one day in SF, dinner in Mill Valley; the next day a hike in West Marin and out to the ocean. We recommend Nancy's and hope to visit again.
Very nice room. Quiet and private. Nancy was very helpful with fresh coffee in the morning (all I wanted ). Great place and excellent location for me.
About the Host, Nancy
I've lived in the Bay Area since 1977, a transplant from New York. I love the Bay Area and Marin County has so much natural beauty to enjoy. I am an executive recruiter in the Biotech field and work out of my home office. I particularly like going to the Farmers Market just across the freeway from my home to shop for the freshest of fruit, veggies and fish. I enjoy cooking, traveling and dancing West Coast Swing.
