The Space

Our Green lodging has been operating since 2000. We provide organic breakfasts, organic cotton sheets, locally made furnishings. Out of respect for people with chemical sensitivities, we use only environmentally friendly cleaning products and encourage a scent-free environment. The South Room is a large room at the back of the house. It has a super comfortable queen size bed and an additional twin-size foam pad in the closet for a child. There's also a massage table stored in that closet, in case that inspires you. It has a carpeted floor, quiet neutral colors. The South Room shares the upstairs bathroom with the North Room. The bathroom has a large claw-foot tub and a hose/nozzle for sit-down showering. Also upstairs is the Library, a lovely common room for all guests to enjoy. It includes a TV, videos and of course, books.

Our hope is that you'll find our home comfortable, relaxing, and inspirational. If you're already familiar with common environmental practices like recycling, composting and eating organic food, you'll feel right at home here. If not, we'd be happy to explain their importance, as well as our use of organic bedding, buying locally, raising chickens, and energy saving practices. We love sharing what we know and learning more from our guests. We serve breakfast on your schedule in any number of locations, indoors or out.

We also have become a Washington State non-profit, Fertile Ground Commons, our demonstration site for sustainable living. As such, you'll find lots of activity around the house with people picking up their CSA shares, carpooling, dropping off home school kids, volunteering in the garden, or having a potluck. It's a fun way to get a taste of Olympia, if you're up for it.

This Oasis in downtown Olympia has a large garden and mature fruit and nut trees along with six chickens and numerous swings and outdoor seating areas. We are super kid-friendly and can provide high chair, stroller, play pen, booster seats and toys! Just bring the kids, the Fertile Grounds will keep them occupied.

Guest Access

Guests have access to The Commons: an outdoor space with gardens, fountain, food court, edible landscaping, swings. Indoors, we have a piano, library, sauna and an open kitchen.
