The other reviews on the listing are very positive, which is a large reason I rented the apartment for a month and why I was surprised by my experience. My first ever negative AirBnB review: 1. Bugs. The apartment was not clean. Floors and countertops were dirty, dusty, and stick…
Response from Jenna:
I am very shocked by Vicky's review. First, in the entire month she was in the unit, she never once mentioned any problems about bugs, cleanliness, or dogs. My property manager was even in the unit when she moved in, so she had every opportunity to point out cleanliness issues. Then, in several of my messages to her, I asked how things were and she never mentioned these issues. Had she done so, my property manager and I certainly would have addressed her concerns. (Note that a professional cleaning service came in less than a day before she moved in.) For someone who is a frequent traveler, she should know that such concerns should be reported as soon as they are noticed, yet she clearly failed to do so. This leads me to believe that Vicky's negative review is due more to her displeasure with my addressing my right to show the apartment than any truth in her statements, as even after she was informed that my property manager had the right — by law — to show the apartment, she continued to make it difficult for us to do so — so much so that we ended up renting to someone who did not want to see the apartment before renting, simply so that we did not have to deal with Vicky. This resulted in a loss of income as this tenant did not move in until two weeks after Vicky moved out, while the other prospective tenants wanted to move in sooner. This gives you an indication of how difficult she was on this particular matter: I was willing to take a substantial financial hit rather than deal with her any further. So when Vicky says we insisted, she is correct — because we were completely within our rights to do so and she, even though she was in the wrong (as she admits herself), persisted in making the process nearly impossible. And when she says her husband had to come home from work early, she is leaving out the fact that he came home during the time period *she* requested. What is particularly disconcerting to me is she was so adverse to showing the apartment when she herself was looking for a long-term rental and so was viewing units around Los Angeles.
My fiance and I stayed here for a month with our French bulldog while we were looking for a place to live after moving to LA. Jenna's place was perfect for our stay with everything we needed. The management company she works with even dropped of new stuff for days after we got th…
Jenna was an exceptional host. She was very responsive to any issues we reported and earnest in ensuring we had a pleasant stay at the apartment. The apartment was great and in friendly community with great neighbors. We especially enjoyed the pool and hot tubs. There are some g…
I'm a writer/web consultant who also loves to travel. Chances are, if my place is listed, I'm somewhere out of town, but my property manager will be happy to help you out. If you don't see availability for my place and are looking to stay for at least three weeks, I may be able t…
