Marcus Garvey Park and the New York Public Library are both just one block away. Central Park is a 10 minute walk. 24 hour gyms and laundromats within 5 minutes. Lots of restaurants and cafes, grocery stores, delis, and weekend Farmers and Craft Markets in the neighborhood.

We are one block from the 2 and 3 subway lines, two blocks from the A, B, C, and D subway lines, and four blocks from the 4, 5, 6 subway lines. This means anywhere in the 5-borough area is extremely accessible, with Times Square 15 minutes away. The M60 (Laguardia Airport), M100, M101, BX15 buses all stop one block from the apartment, and we are 3 blocks from the MetroNorth train station (to suburbs in New York state and Connecticut). Public transportation available to Newark, LaGuardia, and JFK airports.

Great place and great people! I was at Rudy's only for a short stay, but I would definitely stay there again!
My boyfriend and I had an absolutely awesome experience with Rudy and Laura's listing. The apartment was beautiful, clean and roomy, and Rudy, Laura and their roomies were all very cool people. The Forest Room was clean, pleasant and surprisingly big, with a super comfy bed and storage space. We had access to the kitchen, bathroom and common space, all of which were comfortable and recently refurbished- it was way better than we expected, for such a low price. The neighborhood was great, too, full of cool places and great food! We loved becoming friends with these guys and next time we're in NYC we're definitely gonna try to book this place again!
Very fun and homely feel in the house! Housemates were really nice and we often gathered together for chats and what nots. They also have all the information you need in the house. The subway is just right downstairs and there's lots of food choices around the vicinity. My experience in NY has been wonderful largely because of these nice hosts! Will be back to see them!
Absolutely loved my stay at Rudy and Laura's. The place is bright, clean, warm (in multiple ways), well arranged and stylized, with all the just-right comforts. Best is the terrific communication, openness and friendliness of the hosts. Every encounter -- with Rudy, Laura, or the others in the apt was pleasant and interesting. Had lovely conversations that enriched my getaway weekend. Everything on the airbnb profile was accurate, and I was impressed by the great effort put into making the place inviting and comfortable. Amazing Ninth Street Coffee (not sure if a staple; I got lucky... ;-). Transportation was a breeze. I followed Rudy's input on where to eat (Chez Lucienne) and go (Silvana, for live jazz) -- and had great experiences at both spots. Will definitely be back. I can recommend enough staying here as a great opportunity to discover Harlem close up and real, and spend time with two wonderful, intelligent, thinking, creative, caring hosts. Thank you, Rudy and Laura!
I stayed in the Forest Room for a weekend trip to NYC. The first thing I noticed was that the room was a lot bigger than the picture showed it to be. The place is very conveniently located 2 minutes away from an express train - a major plus if you're planning on moving in and out of the city a lot. Information board in the living room is a brilliant touch, as it literally gives you a crash course on living in and getting around the area.
My girlfriend and I felt like the place was our actual home rather than being guests in there, as Sueminn and Asani do a wonderful job of welcoming and hosting you. They were incredibly polite and friendly and left us with a very favorable first impression of AirBNB. Their dog Juniper is an absolute sweetheart, for those dog lovers out there :)
This would be my place of choice from now on for future NYC trips.
Sueminn greeted me and showed me my room and made me feel welcome. He answered all the questions I had and gave me directions on how to get around the city. This was very helpful. The place was in a great location for where I needed to go. It is also very close to the subway station.
Hi Cathleen, thanks so much for the kind review! We also appreciated your message-- "The location was perfect for where I needed to go. In addition, you both made me feel welcome. The art on the wall explains everything which was great because if I wanted to know something or forgot something, I could go to the wall and read it again. You've probably heard this many times, but your cat is so friendly and cute! Thank you very much for everything and making it a pleasant stay." & thought potential guests would appreciate the info in that message as well. Thanks again for everything!
