Angelo was very welcoming and greeted us from the window above when we rang the buzzer of the apartment. He gave us a full tour of the place and explained how everything worked, and gave us a map with good recommendations for restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, etc. (which helped us a lot!). We met Sara as well when she got home a bit later - they are both lovely people. We were made to feel at home. (They happened to notice on my profile that I play guitar - and in the evening Angelo even brought down his guitar for me to use during my stay! I was super happy to be able to have access to a guitar during my vacation. :) Thanks Angelo!)
As the AirBnb photos accurately show, the apartment itself is a beautiful country-style place. It is spacious, light and airy, with lots of wood everywhere. It was probably our favorite place to stay during our 5 week trip through the area.
The apartment is situated 5 minutes' walk up a hill that starts at the Etruscan Arc. It's a quiet street, yet there are good restaurants minutes away. It is a bit of a walk to some of the touristic sights of the city (it's a hilly area), but not far. The apartment is within the historic core area. There are bus stops at the Etruscan Arc so it's a short walk to a bus.
Both Sara and Angelo speak English (Sara is more fluent), which was great for us since we don't speak any Italian. They were both a great help, and even helped us arrange our day trip to Assisi.
My only regret is that we didn't spend more time in Perugia! I miss the place.
April 29 to May 4
My husband I and enjoyed our stay at Sara and angelo's apartment situated in the historic centre of Perugia. Accessible by "c" bus from the train station, stop at Fortebraccio at the Etruscan Arch, then and about 5 mins walk up the hill to their place. There are about 60 stairs to a cute, funky apartment in a historic building. There is a nice view from the kitchen window, a well equipped cooking area. We explored by walking many areas of Perugia and found an market and butcher about a 15 minute walk. small shops and many restaurants in the area of the apartment. It was clean and Sara had kindly left bread, fruit, coffee etc for our breakfast.
Angelo and Sara's apartment in Perugia is beautiful, the pictures don't even do it justice! We really appreciated Angelo's warm welcome with Baci chocolates on the kitchen table and fresh bread from the local bakery. He also gave us a bunch of fantastic recommendations for restaurants in the area! The apartment is in a perfect location, and the views from the kitchen window of Perugia and the surrounding countryside are incredible. I would absolutely stay here again!! Grazie di tutto Angelo e Sara! Spero di rivedervi presto!
If there were not enough reasons to go back to beautiful Perugia, this lovely apartment would be one to add! It is a real gem: cozy, comfortable, perfectly located. Sara and Angelo are the perfect hosts. They were very flexible with our check-in and check-out, warmly welcomed us, and gave us plenty of great recommendations for enjoying our staying. We can't recommend their place enough!
The apartment is highly recommendable for a visit in Perugia! Very central and nevertheless located in a quiet area. The rooms are furnished lovely and with a lot of nice details. We really enjoyed the week being there and would definetely go there again!
