  • I stayed the week here in Newton as I was working in Waltham. The location was perfect for me and so were Christopher & Afroza. I was made feel like a visiting relation rather than a house guest. It was great. The only issue I ran into was that Newton has a winter parking ban and I coudlnt park on the road but Afroza was quick to advise that I could park a couple of blocks away in Watertown which was perfect as it was less than 3 mins walk.....Perfect....I look forward to staying again sometime !

  • For my first Airbnb experience I booked with Afroza and Christopher in Boston. They were lovely hosts and very considerate of my privacy that it almost felt I had the apartment to myself. The room was cozy, decorated in a soothing green color palette and it's the perfect little nook for a short stay. Plus, the bed (a full) is super comfortable and I can tell Afroza considered every detail to make sure accommodations were of high quality. There's fast wifi, a desk, towels provided, drawers to store belongings, and a set of keys to come and go as needed. The area is safe and residential with a lovely park across the street. The only drawback was the long walk to the apartment. It takes about 10 min, and with luggage, it's quite a trek. To get to the subway (Red and Green lines), you'll need to take a bus which is fine for general sightseeing but I used cabs for keeping time-sensitive appointments and for returning to the airport. Overall, the rate, quality lodging and considerate hospitality of Afroza and Christopher makes this an excellent place to stay while visiting Boston. :)

  • Christopher and Afroza were the best hosts I could have asked for. They were extremely nice and hospitable people, making sure that I was as comfortable as possible during my stay. The room that was provided was relatively small, but more than enough space for me with a desk and a large (I think queen size) cozy bed. The room (and entire apartment for that matter) were extremely clean and well kept. The location was very convenient (close to downtown, but far enough to avoid traffic and have available/free parking.) The price was EXTREMELY reasonable for the quality of my stay. There is much and more I could say about how enjoyable my stay was, but I will only say this...if ever I need a place to stay in Boston again, they will undoubtedly be my first choice.

  • I was in Newton to receive some training. This worked out great. Afroza met me and made me feel comfortable right away. They are both good hosts and easy going. The location was only 3 blocks from Aircuity - the training site. This allowed me to take the MBTA system to Christopher's and Afroza's, and then simply walk to training. I love not having to rent a vehicle. I got a great sleep in the bed and woke up refreshed. I usually don't sleep that well away from home, this time I did. The stay really worked well for me. Thanks.

  • Cool people, good hosts. I recommend the apartment to anyone needing a place to crash.

  • Christopher and Afroza were friendly hosts. We shared a bit of conversation here and there. It's a small sized and older apartment in a fully residential area. Wi-fi worked great and parking was fine. When comparing the quality of room furnishings, mattress, linens, and overall comfort...I'd have to say that this space probably falls a bit below other places I've stayed on AirBnb for the same price range. Unfortunately, the biggest challenge was noise from the traffic and the above neighbor.

Christopher and Afroza received good reviews when hosting guests in their previous apartment in New York. If you're looking for a space in the Newton area and are on a budget, I'd still give it a try.

  • Great home away from home. Afroza & Christopher are gracious, clean and welcoming. I really enjoyed sharing in after work cocktails and conversation. Many thanks!

  • Really nice couple - good location, easy to get to and find. Good connection into the city. Great experience!!!!

  • I had a wonderful time staying here. While I couldn't meet Chris who was out of town, Afroza was a wonderful host. I enjoyed discussing several topics of mutual interest. She was also kind enough to drop off an item I'd forgotten at their place... thank you.

The room is cozy and beautiful. The house is also tastefully decorated. The location is a short 10-14 minute walk from bus stops which easily take you to Harvard Square, MIT or South Station.

    I'd highly recommend staying here.

About
A gracious, tolerant, and respectful couple with a spare guest room in the safest part of the greater Boston area. Afroza is a graduate student at Harvard University and owns her own consulting and tutoring business; she grew up in New York City and is first generation Bengali-American. Christopher is a community organizer who has been involved with the Progressive Movement for almost a decade; he grew up in Michigan and is of Dutch heritage. Life motto: do unto others as you'd have them do to you. ---------------------------------------------------- In keeping with the ideals of hospitality, previous guests have been offered to join in a hot meal, some tea, or in sharing a bottle of wine over warm conversation. However, we are also pretty hands off and respect our guests' privacy. We value our guests and the experience of hosting through AirBnb; we are willing to work with our guests to accommodate them to make their stay more comfortable. We have rented out other spaces through AirBnb before - when we lived in New York, NY, prior to Newton, MA - and enjoy the experience of meeting people from all corners of the world!
