Walk up the road to the old slate quarry for views all over anglesey and over to Llanberis and Snowdon. Carry on to the top of Moel Eilio for even more views.
Cycle down to Caernarfon on Lôn Gwyrfai Cycle track where you will find a historic Castle town and Port with an array of cafes, restaurants and bars.
Catch a Welsh Highland steam train at the bottom of the village all the way to Porthmadog. Enjoy the amazing views up the valley to the foot of Snowdon where you can get off and walk up Snowdon.
Enjoy an evening of live entertainment and enjoy a pint of ale brewed on the premises at Snowdonia Park Brewpub in Waunfawr.
Buses from the village go regularly to Caernarfon and in the other direction to Beddgelert.
Getting here by public transport - From the train Station in Bangor you will need two buses. 1/1A from Bangor to Caernarfon (25min travel time) then S4/87 Caernarfon to Waunfawr (10min travel time). The back garden and they are welcome to come to the front garden to feed the chickens.
Interaction with Guests
We aim to be home to welcome guests and to say goodbye. We are always around if they need ideas for walks and visits, they just need to knock on our door, but otherwise will let our guests get on and enjoy the cabin and Snowdonia.
The mountains and coast. Wonderful castles and history in the area. Village pub and great restaurants down in Caernarfon. Caernarfon is a UNESCO world heritage site.
There are buses from the village which will take you too and from Caernarfon and into the mountains. Time tables on the council web page, we have paper copy's here. Google Gwynedd bus times.
Guest must separate their waste into the recyclables, food and general.
