The Clipper Street Cottage has been frequently described as is a private, peaceful, quite, clean and well appointed cottage in a very safe and convenient neighborhood location which has many things to do and see. Room amenities are equal to a hotel.
This cozy & quiet guestroom cottage is located in the heart of the Noe Valley area of San Francisco. The spacious cottage with a 1-bedroom with queen bed/full bath/with walk-in closet accommodation overlooks and has access to our sunny backyard garden. The entrance is completely private from the street level and is accessed by a keyless combination lock for guest convenience. Plenty of street parking available.
Centrally located in Noe Valley just 3 blocks from the 24th Street neighborhood shopping district that includes a wide variety of boutique retail shops, restaurants/bars and coffee shops. Within a 20-minute walk to the Mission and Castro Districts and to a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station. A 5-minute drive to 280 Freeway, a 10-minute drive to the 101 Freeway and a 20-minute drive to SF International Airport. Public transportation to downtown is just ½ block away.
Room amenities include shampoo and body wash, soap, hair dryer, clothing steam press, coffee maker with coffee and tea provided, bottled water. Refrigerator, Cable TV, and WI-FI as well.
And who knows? The fluffiest and friendliest dog in the world (our bichon, Jefo) may just greet you upon arrival.
However, NO SMOKING on the premise.
Access to washer and dryer in garage.
Interaction with Guests
Since there is a private entrance to this private cottage, with a combination lock on the door for guest convenience, so there is no need for interaction with the host if you do not desire. However, we do live in the main house so we do enjoy the interaction with our guests as much or as little as they would like. I have met many wonderful people and love the interchange with them.
Our neighborhood is quite charming, safe and has some of the best weather in San Francisco. It is also very convenient for retail shopping, eating, coffee houses, newsstand as well as convenient stores such as Walgreens and Whole Foods and a post office within just 2-5 blocks from the cottage.
It is very conveniently located just 1 block to a municipal bus stop that runs regularly all day and night. You can buy a muni card at Walgreens which is just two blocks away that you can use for the transportation system throughout the city. If you are renting a car, there is plenty of available street parking on the street the cottage is located.
Other Things to Note
My career for over 35 years was in the hotel and visitor industry business, and I am very happy to have this cottage business and host wonderful people from all over the world.
No smoking on premise and no pets
I really comfortably stayed at Doug's little cottage house. This room is very independently located and equipped with all things that you might need during stay. Above all, he is always willing to help and response what you need. Yes! He is super super kind. Very clean and cozy. I really recommend anyone who really want to stay independently, but staying with a host.
What a great Airbnb experience! My wife and I stayed at the Clipper Street Cottage for 3 days (1/16 - 1/18/2015). Our daughter lives nearby but her apartment is too small for us to stay there. We searched Airbnb and found the Clipper Street Cottage. For us it is the ideal little home away from home. The "cottage" is quiet, comfortable and safe. It has a private entrance and is self-contained. The bathroom is in-suite. There is a large closet and a small refrigerator. Everything is up-to-date and spotless. The bed is comfortable and we slept well. Doug is friendly, helpful and caring: a wonderful host.
We travel to San Francisco 2-3 times per year. We will be back to the Clipper Street Cottage.
I had a great stay at the Clipper Street Cottage. Doug was very friendly and welcoming, even checking on my preference for the welcome fruit basket he was putting together before I arrived. The apartment, much like a well-appointed hotel room, is kept spotlessly clean and has everything you will need for a comfortable stay. It is tastefully furnished, with lovely artwork and even some books to keep you entertained (not to mention cable tv). The apartment looks into Doug's beautiful garden, which is an added treat. The location is perfect for anyone who wishes to stay in the Noe Valley, a lovely peaceful neighborhood. The apartment is just a few minutes walk from the main street of Noe, 24 Street, with lots of cute shops and cafes (and a Whole Foods supermarket). The apartment is also well-connected, with buses and the J-train/tram stopping close by. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay at the Clipper Street Cottage, and felt right at home in a charming corner of San Francisco.
This is the second time we stayed at the Clipper Street cottage. As always, Doug goes out of his way to make his guests feel welcome, starting initially with a bowl of fruit. During the stay he also asks if there is anything he can do for us. Doug is a very welcoming and friendly person and the accommodations include everything you could need. The location is terrific with nearby transportation, stores and restaurants close by.
We highly recommend the Clipper Street cottage for your stay.
Clipper Street Cottage was exactly as represented, clean, neat and well appointed. It was particularly well situated relative to 24th street shops and transportation.
Doug was the perfect host.
Doug greeted us when we arrived and gave us the combination to the door. There was fruit, and bottled water in fridge. Great location in Noe Valley. Plenty of street parking, which is a big deal in the city. Comfortable bed, nice room. Lots of nice artwork.
Ii had a great experience at the Clipper St. Cottage. I was a guest for 6 days. The area of town was friendly with lots of stores and restaurants. The cottage was clean and private. The private entrance was good for coming and going without disturbing my hosts. The host,Doug, was very helpful and could answer all of my questions including information on the Muni and subway system. It takes about 30 minutes to go downtown using public transit.
My wife and I are empty nesters and love to travel, ski, bike, hike, cook, go to the movies, dine in San Francisco's great restaurants, and spend time in the Napa/Sonoma Valley wine country. Spending time with family and friends is the best and meeting new people is right up there as well. We feel so fortunate to live in the great city of San Francisco and look forward to sharing it with you.
