The Space

This cozy & quiet guestroom cottage is located in the heart of the Noe Valley area of San Francisco. The 1-bedroom/full bath accommodation overlooks and has access to the backyard garden. The entrance is completely private from the street level and is accessed by a keyless combination lock for guest convenience. Plenty of street parking available.

Centrally located in Noe Valley just 3 blocks from the 24th Street neighborhood shopping district that includes a wide variety of boutique retail shops, restaurants/bars and coffee shops. Within a 20-minute walk to the Mission and Castro Districts and to a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station. A 5-minute drive to 280 Freeway, a 10-minute drive to the 101 Freeway and a 20-minute drive to SF International Airport. Public transportation to downtown is just ½ block away.

Room amenities include shampoo and body wash, soap, hair dryer, clothing steam press, coffee maker with coffee and tea provided, bottled water. Refrigerator, Cable TV, and WI-FI as well.

And who knows? The fluffiest and friendliest dog in the world (our bichon, Jefo) may just greet you upon arrival.

  • My experience at Clipper House was a clean and pleasant space, plenty of room with good closet space, comfortable bed, lots of light and view into the garden; also very quiet.
The location is on a fairly quiet street, yet in a neighborhood with lots of fun and interesting shops. I would stay here again, and Doug made my stay very easy to arrange.

  • The cottage was a pure delight. The bed was comfy as well. Doug was the perfect host. The amenities were great too. It felt like a home away from home. Close to Noe Valley and the Divisidero bus just a block away gives you access to much of the city. All in all I had a great experience, I would definitely stay again.

  • The Clipper Street Cottage was beautiful, and Doug made everything so easy! I booked the Clipper Street Cottage for my mother, who was visiting from Florida, and it was perfect. The room was clean and bright, and there were so many lovely little extras that made her stay all the better (she was particularly delighted by the bowl of fresh fruit waiting for her on her first morning). Mom loved staying there and will definitely try to book it for her next visit. :)

  • Doug was a gracious host and the place was immaculate and charming. The room is the lower level of a pretty home with a completely separate entrance and a lovely garden full of beautiful plants. Bed was very comfortable and space heater kept me warm. Small fridge and coffee maker plus fruit added convenience and hospitality.

  • My wife and I enjoyed our 6 night stay at Doug's cottage. It was conveniently located to stores, restaurants, transportation and our daughter's apartment. Doug was very friendly and helpful and always available to answer our questions. The fruit bowl was filled with a nice variety of fruit and Doug also provided several bottles of water in the small refrigerator. The bed was comfortable, closet space was adequate and the bathroom was a good size with an excellent shower.

Overall we would recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable place in the Noe Valley area of San Francisco. We will definitely be considering this site for our next visit to San Francisco.

  • The Clipper Cottage is like a private cottage, same as the advertised pictures. We enjoyed the back yard space and Jeffo the dog was a welcomed surprise. It is a good AirBnB place when your needs are met and you hardly need the host. Doug was available and helpful.

We needed a room with easy access and parking in the Noe Valley area. If you travel from outside San Francisco, you find economical parking an issue. In most cases we could park directly in front. In worst cases we parked about 2 blocks away, only because of construction on an adjacent street that reduced available street parking.

For us, driving into San Francisco is difficult, but the Clipper Cottage was a haven.

  • My parents came to visit from out of town and enjoyed staying at Doug's cottage.
There are several nice restaurants and shops on 24th street that are in close walking distance.
Public transit access (Muni) is good as well.

    For German speaking travelers:
Meine Eltern kamen zu Besuch aus Deutschland und fuehlten sich wohl in Dougs Haus.
In direkter Umgebung zu Fuss erreichbar befinden sich einige nette Restaurants und Geschaefte entlang der 24th Street.
Die Anbindung mit Bus und Strassenbahn (in die Innenstadt) ist auch gut.
