From 1 July 2011 the City of Florence by resolution of the City Council No. 230/33 of 06.20.2011, integrated by
resolution No. 21/2012, has established the “'tourist tax”.
The tax is applied to non-residents overnight stays in the city of Florence and for a maximum of 7 consecutive nights.
The tax rate for this tourist structure is 2 euro per person per night.
In order to organize your check-in at the best, we would like to know the details of your arrival as soon as possible. Please contact me at least one week before.
Please, do not smoke.
Please, do not party: we ask respect for our neighbours.
Please, keep the apartment and its equipment clean and nice, as it were your own.
The apartment has a special security lock: the keys cost 45 euro, if you loose them I'm sorry but you shall pay them back.
Please, respect the city rules of waste separation (we provide different bins) and take out your own litter.
Due to city rules, you can reach the apartment with your car, but you cannot go around in the center with it and you cannot park in the street: we strongly recommend to rent a place in the garage nearby, it's not so expensive (26 euro every 24 hours, in the average. Not included in the apartment rental) and it's safe and confortable. We can reserve a place for you, ask us about.
If you are arriving by bus or train: that's the best, Santa Maria Novella railway station (Florence main station, which is also the terminal of many bus lines, including the shuttles from Florence and PIsa airport), is 2 minutes away walking.
We provide basic ingredients for cooking (salt, oil, sugar ecc.), toilet paper, hand soap, soap for dishwasher and washing machine. It's only a starting kit, though: if something finishes and you need some more, please you can buy it at the mini market 30 metres far from the apartment.
The stay in Firenze was perfect! Franchesca, Ilaria's sister in law waited for us in our arrival an was very attentious and helpfull. Apartment very well located! Perfect!
Had a lovely stay at this apartment! It was clean, functional, well equipped, had good wifi and above all it was in an excellent location. Host was very helpful and friendly, responded promptly to any requests we had. Would definitely recommend!
My friends and I had a pretty good stay at the apartment. The location is amazing, just a few minutes from most major sites like the San Lorenzo market and Duomo. We never needed to use public transportation because everything was in walking distance. Additionally, a great supermarket was less than a block away. With the plentiful supply of cookwear, the apartment was very friendly to cook in. The apartment was clean, but we were unaware that the air conditioning was only in the kitchen and one of the two bedrooms. Even though there was a fan in the room without air conditioning, with Florence's heat, it was unbearable to sleep in. Additionally, the air conditioning never got cold enough even when it was on the coldest setting. Granted anything was a relief from the 100 degree weather, but we were always too warm inside the apartment. Communication was a struggle as well. After the initial response from Ilaria, I sent two follow up emails and received no response. She promised to send me a list of recommendations for food/activities which was never sent either. When I did communicate with Peter (who would let us into the apartment) however, the response was timely! Peter was great about setting us up with the apartment and explaining everything. Also keep in mind that the apartment is on the third floor up many steps. Would have appreciated better communication and a colder air conditioner but besides that we enjoyed our stay in the apartment very much!
Dear Ally, I'm glad you liked the place, thank you for everything! I actually did not receive any other email from you on Airbnb system beside the first one, to which I answered right away. You can easily check on Airbnb mail: probably you wrote to a wrong address. Unfortunately, since I did not receive any further communication from you, I could not send you my list of restaurants or any other advice. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience, you should have ask to Andrea, as well for a second fan in the small room, during these days of exceptional heat.
The apartment is on third floor, it's clearly stated in the apartment description.
The apartment is lovely and in a good location, minutes from the Duomo and the train station. Ilaria was quickly responsive in communication. Francesca met us within minutes of our arrival and showed us around. We had read other reviews about the stairs, so we anticipated that and it was not a problem. The apartment is clean and simply decorated. The air conditioning was in the kitchen and the front bedroom, but not the back bedroom. The fan seemed adequate. Our only complaint was with the front bedroom and the very loud noise late into the night and early in the morning with six trash cubes directly across the street from our windows. Residents and restaurants bring their trash to the receptacles at all hours, then garbage trucks come by to pick it up at all hours. A set of ear plugs helped. Otherwise, it was a convenient and good place to stay.

About the Host, Ilaria
I moved to Florence several years ago for love, and I think this is reflecting in what I do in my work and in life. I'm an art journalist and write about art and cultural tourism. I'm very glad that my job keeps me in touch with what I love most about my country. As a result of a familiar passion, I like Italian - but not only Italian - cusine, and wine, one of the most intense expression of the extraordinary Tuscan landscape. I love to travel, and I believe that there are many ways of being travelers and tourists: the only important think is to live an authentic experience. I hope my hospitality will be part of it.
