Ciao! My name is Danilo. I know that you are going to spend some time in a new city, and I want to do as much as possible to make your stay as enjoyable as it can be.
Perched on the top floor of an ancient building, sunny and silent, the Santa Croce 2 penthouse is characterized by a marvelous terrace featuring an extraordinary view of the hilltop church of San Miniato al Monte.
This apartment features a kitchen with fridge and kitchen utensils, bathroom with shower and hair dryer, living room with sofa bed, comfortable double room, and terrace.
There is no elevator in the building and the apartment is on the 3rd floor... but we believe that between the view, the price, and the tranquility, this apartment is a great place to stay!

very nice apartment, beautifully decorated. the terrace is perfect for having breakfast or dinner, the bathroom small but very functional.
air conditioning works very well (important during summer!!)
Danilo and his staff are friendly, helpful and give good advice to anyone who has never been in town. parking can be a bit of a problem in florence, but we were perfectly informed beforehand by Danilo about our possibilities. great service!!
Danilo was extremely helpful and courteous host, helping with everything from the reservation of museum tickets to carrying our bags up the77 stone steps to the apartment upon our arrival.
The apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything we need including Wi-Fi.
This apartment is situated close to Santa Croce Church and Piazza and is perfect for exploring the art and architecture of Florence.
I made the reservation on very short notice, just one day before arriving. So, I am very glad that Danilo was able to accommodate us on such short notice. That being said, there were a few issues.
Because I provided a profile photo and a message, the reservation was accepted immediately. However, it turns out the apartment I booked was not available. I found this out the next day when I received a confirmation email from Danilo saying he'd found us an apartment, which was unexpected since I thought we'd booked a specific one.
The alternate apartment was ok. The location was excellent, just a couple blocks from the Duomo. However the quality was significantly lower than the apartment I had booked. The one we booked looked very modern and nicely decorated, recently renovated. This one had a lot of old, mismatched furniture, old spring mattresses, a toilet seat that could hardly stay in place, and peeling paint. It was clean, and comfortable as the heat worked well, but overall it was not nearly on the same level as what we had booked.
My only other concern was I thought the 50 euro cleaning fee was fairly expensive. The fee was clearly disclosed, it just seemed like the apartment would be a bit more put together for that price. The beds were unmade, with some of the packaged bed sets seeming stale. They had probably been stored for months since being washed. Also there was no hand soap. Luckily, there was toilet paper.
Danilo was a very nice host, and very helpful in finding parking, and meeting us promptly. Like I said, I also greatly appreciate that he was able to accommodate us on such short notice. I'm not sure how the availability works on AirBnB, and why the system was able to accept our reservation when the unit was not available. I'm glad we had a place to stay, but it's certainly not ideal to have a reservation confirmed and paid, to find out a switch has been made.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
