The flat was ok - but not very cozy. It's a good place if you do not wish to spend some time in house.
It was a hassle to get the keys as Fy had left them to one of her friends who had forgotten. So we had to wait for an hour at the entrance of the condo.
There were no bed sheets - just a cover over the bed which means all guests are using the same one.
Overall, it was ok but could be much better for the price paid.
We stayed here for the month of December, 2013: my family (wife & 2 kids), my parents and my brother. Overall, we had a very good experience, but I believe it was a learning experience for both us and the owners (overall positive review with some constructive criticism — please read until the end).
The place looks exactly like the pictures: it was clean, bright and spacious. However, the kitchen cabinets were almost empty of plates, pots & pans when we arrived, and we were told that we could only use one hotplate and not the 2-eye gas stove that we saw in the pictures. The wifi was just enough for email and had to be topped up every time I made a (website hidden) call (I had made clear before renting that I needed dependable wifi for work).
Fy and her benefactors quickly tried to rectify this situation, and I soon realized that this was a large misunderstanding: most (perhaps all?) of the renters before us had likely stayed only a weekend and ate out for every meal (a very enjoyable way to spend time in Penang). The owners of this apartment were not accustomed to the needs of remote workers who stay for a month and regularly cook at home. Fy and the landlord brought us plates, bowls and cooking utensils, including frying pans and a rice cooker. They also hooked up the gas, changed the wifi and brought clothes hangers (there were only 6 or 7 for the 3 bedrooms). They really did their best to rectify the misunderstanding as quickly as they could, but this meant a week of back-and-forth.
That said, I would recommend this place to many travelers, especially those who want to be central and within walking distance of lots of good eating. Fy and the owners were very sweet people who wanted us to be happy, and the place and location is very nice. The place is on a fairly busy intersection, and there was construction going on across the street. There was some noise from these, but they did not bother us until my brother (a notoriously light sleeper) arrived. Barking dogs seems to hang out at the construction site at night. This would only be a concern only if you are a light sleeper and considering staying there soon (the construction looked almost finished),
In conclusion, if you are coming to Penang to see Georgetown and eat all it has to offer, this could be the place for you. If are "moving in" for a month or longer, like we did, this could still be the place for you, but make sure to confirm that it meets your needs first.
Nice place to actually stay in, and the host is easy going! The rooms are plenty and well kept! Short drive away from the most popular areas in town. It will be great if wifi is provided though!
The place is awesome! It looks exactly like the pictures uploaded! It is very well kept and I love the decor of the rooms. It is also very near to famous places like Gurney, George Town. It's just 10 mins drive from there. I was overwhelmed by the warm welcome by the host! She's friendly and easy to get along. I would highly recommend this place to others and definitely going to stay there if I'm going to Penang again!
My stay was pleasant. The apartment was clean. No trouble in getting the keys and the host was very hospitable. Would like comment about the dust in the cupboards but I guess it's because of the construction directly opposite that's blowing the dust over. I must say that I recommend it to you.
Pros: 1. Spacious. 2. Comfortable 3. Next to hospital 4. With carpark.
Cons: 1. No wifi 2. No remote control of the air-conditioning provided in small bedroom but you can turn it on by the power switch without controling the room temperature. 3. Water pressure is low, only the bathroom of master bedroom has hotwater, don't expect it to be hot but warm. 4. It was confirmed that no air-conditioning provided in living/dining room although the facility is there, but the remote control is missing.
Conclusion: nice place to stay.
The place is spacious, clean and new. Convenient for those with cars as parking space is available. Bus stop right next to the building, make it convenient as well. 24-hr hospital next to the building and may make phone calls there.
The air-conditioner in the dinning room is out of order...though there are 2 bathrooms in the flat, water pressure is low and only 1 can be used at a time...a bit wasted...
