Guest access
Check in is easy. The Cozy Midtown Condo is in a secured building. This includes the main entrance on Farnam Street, the north entrance, and the 9th floor corridor once you exit the elevator. There is a round, black key fob that opens the secured building entrance and the door to the hallway. Plus, the front door to the Cozy Midtown Condo uses an electronic deadbolt lock.
Guests receive two unique codes just prior to their scheduled check-in day, a booking code for the KeyCafe, which enables entry to the building, and a 4-digit keypad code for the electronic lock on the door to the Cozy Midtown Condo.
KeyCafe is an electronic lockbox. This lockbox contains the key fobs to the building, hallway, and to KeyCafe (for checkout only). Guests receive their booking code along with instructions via a text message to their mobile phone on the morning of their arrival. The 8-digit booking code and instructions are also sent to the guest through the Airbnb message center.
The Cozy Midtown Condo is all yours during your stay. You'll have access to the building lobby, 9th floor corridor, the Condo itself, and the laundry room located on the same floor.
Parking is available in the permitted lot across from the main entrance on Farnam, and the parking hang tag is located in the pocket folder right inside the entrance to the Condo.
Other things to note
The Cozy Midtown Condo is located in a historical building with mechanical systems that support the entire building, including the individual units. The HVAC runs on a water boiler system. Water is heated and cooled by the boiler and runs through pipes at specific temperatures to heat and cool the unit, using the fan and coil system inside the unit.
In the winter, the controls (next to the living room window) should be set on “low” to circulate the warm air throughout the unit. It should be set on “high” in the summer to cool the unit. The thermostat does not function.
Every fall and spring, the boiler system must be shut down for two weeks to convert the system from heat to AC and vice versa; and to perform regular and preventive maintenance.
During this period, the units do not have heat or AC. Portable cooling fans and space heaters are provided to help maintain a comfortable temperature in the unit during the conversion period. Building management determines the dates for the switch, which typically happens in October and April.
The hot water also runs on a boiler system and services the entire building. Depending on the time of day, the water may take 10 minutes or more to warm up in the shower.
