From 1 July 2011 the City of Florence by resolution of the City Council No. 230/33 of 06.20.2011, integrated by
resolution No. 21/2012, has established the “'tourist tax”.
The tax is applied to non-residents overnight stays in the city of Florence and for a maximum of 7 consecutive nights.
The tax rate for this tourist structure is 2,5 euro per person per night.
In order to organize your check-in at the best, we would like to know the details of your arrival as soon as possible. Please contact me at least one week before.
Please, do not smoke.
Please, do not party: we ask respect for our neighbours.
Please, keep the apartment and its equipment clean and nice, as it were your own.
The apartment has a special security lock: the keys cost 45 euro, if you loose them I'm sorry but you shall pay them back.
Please, respect the city rules of waste separation (we provide different bins) and take out your own litter.
Due to city rules, you can reach the apartment with your car, but you cannot go around in the center with it and you cannot park in the street: we strongly recommend to rent a place in the garage nearby, it's not so expensive (26 euro every 24 hours, in the average. Not included in the apartment rental) and it's safe and confortable. We can reserve a place for you, ask us about.
If you are arriving by bus or train: that's the best, Santa Maria Novella railway station (Florence main station, which is also the terminal of many bus lines, including the shuttles from Florence and PIsa airport), is 2 minutes away walking.
We provide basic ingredients for cooking (salt, oil, sugar ecc.), toilet paper, hand soap, soap for dishwasher and washing machine. It's only a starting kit, though: if something finishes and you need some more, please you can buy it at the mini market 30 metres far from the apartment.
From Sep 1 - 2, 2015 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
Ilaria the place was amazing! Great location, less than 5 minutes to SMN and the Duomo, and you were all so welcoming. I would strongly recommend this apartment, perfect for mates travelling around Europe
Our stay at Illaria's place in Florence was excellent. Following the greeting at her apartment, we were shown all details of how to operate AC, washing machine, etc.
The location was amazing! Right in the heart of where you want to be in Florence.
Overall experience was great. The host was waiting for us when we arrived. The location of the apartment was super, less than 10 mins walk to everything. The place was super clean. The super market was less than 1 min away. The apartment was just like the pictures, bright and beautiful.
Illaria's apartment is super well located, very nice, comfortable and clean. We were greeted by Francesca, that showed us the whole apartment and answered all our questions. The apartment is at walking distance to Florence's main attractions and five minutes walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station. This was extremely convenient for us since we arrived and left Florence by train. We had a great stay there; we highly recommend it!
The Apartment's location is very very strategic. Literally only 5 - 10 mins walking to Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore (Florence Cathedral) & the Duomo, 5 -10 mins to Piazza di Santa Maria Novella & the Basilica, 15 - 10 mins walk to Mercanto Centrale, 15 - 20 mins walk to Ponte Vecchio. Lots of buses also pass around the Apartment. Lots of restaurants, supermarkets as well. If you feel of taking a break from eating Italian food, the Chinese & Korean restaurants, and kebab stalls are just 5 - 10 mins walk, in the area around Mercanto Centrale.
The apartment is spacious. It can fit 6 people, but in my opinion 5 would be the best so that you won't feel cramped. It only has 1 bathroom so definitely you will need to take turns using it. I personally would not suggest more than 5 people. Since it is an apartment, do not forget to bring your own soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush & toothpaste, and other toiletries you may need.
All the information you need to know about the apartment is already provided by Ilaria on her posting. So pretty much what you see in the pics and what she explains is what you get. Since it is on the 3rd floor, you may want to reconsider if you have little children or the elderly, or bring many big heavy suitcases. It is indeed located in a historic building and the stairs are steep, unlike in modern buildings. You'll definitely get some work out. Haha. But it was really a fun, incredible experience living in the heart of Florence in a historic building like this.
My family and i enjoyed staying in Ilaria's apartment. She responded quickly to any questions and was very helpful. We were met at the train station by her brother in law. He showed us around the apartment and provided us with a list of good restaurants to try. The apartment was clean with modern furniture ,beautiful bathroom and in the middle of the main area close to shops/ restaurants. The only negative thing i could say was that the WI-Fi was sketchy. We would definitely stay hear again.

About the Host, Ilaria
I moved to Florence several years ago for love, and I think this is reflecting in what I do in my work and in life. I'm an art journalist and write about art and cultural tourism. I'm very glad that my job keeps me in touch with what I love most about my country. As a result of a familiar passion, I like Italian - but not only Italian - cusine, and wine, one of the most intense expression of the extraordinary Tuscan landscape. I love to travel, and I believe that there are many ways of being travelers and tourists: the only important think is to live an authentic experience. I hope my hospitality will be part of it.
