This room is located in my apartment, which I live alone. It's a convertible space from a TV room, and is private for guest. This room is a pass through for the back bedroom. The pass through is the corner space of the room. The room does have plenty of privacy. In general the room is really perfect for 1-4 night stay's. It's a perfect space for a last minute bed, especially good for people that plan on being out all day. You are welcomed to use the hammock in the back of the house. **NOTE**As a response from Air bnb feedback, I now live in space alone, there is no longer a roommate. The sofa sleeper is brand new (9/2014).
My apartment is located in Jamaica Plain, a diverse and safe neighborhood in Boston! The apartment has a shared bathroom, available eat in kitchen and your own private bedroom with and a gigantic TV. GLBTQ friendly, no drugs, smoking, or alcohol. I do have a small dog, extremely friendly, warm and loving. The room does have Wifi.
The house is conveniently located on a major street in the neighborhood. The bedroom is located in the middle of the house so the noise is less then it would be int he front.. My apartment is quiet and I am not around much. We are walking distance from the bus and train stations.
There are several grocery stores nearby (walk to Harvest Co-op and whole foods is less then a mile.-which absolutely amazing!) I am also located next to many restaurants, coffee shops, sandwich shops, bakeries and bars. Walking distance to public transportation to downtown Boston. Also close to hospitals, colleges, Universities and Fenway Park! You can also hop on to the T and be in Faneuil Hall or Chinatown in 20 minutes.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Please feel free to use the Kitchen and Bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
Though I enjoy the guests, I am in the background and available to help them make their trip the best possible. I interact a minimal amount and realize that this is their vacation or quick getaway and most like to 'pack in a lot in a little time'.
I love the JP (Jamaica Plain) area. We live steps from the center of town. There's tons of international food options as well as a sub shop, hamburger joint, JP Licks Ice cream (which you should not miss). We even have a grass feed restaurant. close by. All the is if you turn left outside our front door. If you turn right, there is a cupcake store, dog store, Coop grocery and a wonderful cafe.
The bus to get into Boston (Copley Square #39) will pick you up directly in front of my house. The bus can also get you to Forest Hills T station in 3 minutes, if you prefer to take the train into the city. We are 15 min from Longwood Medical area, Northeastern and Harvard School of Public Health.
Other Things to Note
There is plenty of free street parking. For the most part it's not a problem. If it is we do have a driveway for a temp. solution.
Please only smoke across the street, (smoke travels) there's a lovely green space and a bus shelter if raining
Please, no bikes on the fence in front of the house. There's plenty of places to park the bikes.
I have a wonderful dog, he's submissive with people, unfortunately aggressive with other dogs..so I'm unable to welcome other dogs in the space.
Robin accepted my last minute reservation, and was so nice and informative, as this was my first AirBnB experience. Her home was perfectly located to walk into town, and was easy to find, as I got in around 10pm using Uber. The bed was very comfortable (Robin put a York peppermint patty on my pillow
Fantastic place! Robin is a lovely host, apartment very clean, and easy to get to via public transit. Recommended!
It was very easy going at Robin's place. At first I was surprised that there was another roommate too, but it turned out fine and he is really nice as well. Robin was helpful with tips about where to shop for things and made me feel at home in her kitchen and going in and out. It was quite by 10pm which was important for me and is a place I would go back to on another visit to Boston.
Robin is so welcoming. I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend her for anyone coming to the area.
Robin was a great and easy host. She helped me figure out the best ways to navigate Boston for some tightly scheduled meetings. And, she was flexible with my flight coming in after midnight.
It's just what I expected at this price point. It's like crashing with a friend on a comfy couch.
Robin is very friendly and has great recommendations. Didn't see her too much as she was out most of time(Friday night and Saturday). Stayed on sofabed, was pretty comfortable, had good sleep. There is bus 1 min walk away that takes you to T orange line into Boston(3 min bus ride and 20 min T ride into downtown). Jamaica Plain is small but real cool, also 15 min bus ride from fine arts museums. She has a dog but dog is super calm, didn't even hear it bark. Highly recommend staying here. Will look for her again.
Our car broke down in Boston and we needed a last minute place to stay for the night. Robin responded to us quickly and graciously welcomed us to her home even though we arrived after 10 soaking wet. Sensing we had had a difficult day, Robin had even put mints on our pillows! Fresh sheets and towels, a Keurig for morning coffee, a very sweet puppy -- this place was wonderful, and we felt right at home. Though it's true that it isn't fully private, it felt perfectly private to us. Thank you Robin for rescuing us!

Hi there, I'm GLBTQ friendly. An avid dancer, I dance Country 2 Stepping, Line dancing, Contra and all types of Swing. I have a very very sweet dog (Sammi) that loves everyone. I'm very busy, not home much. I enjoy hosting and meeting people from all walks of life. The 5 things I can't live without are: (not in any particular order) dancing, TV, Movies, Bike, family, friends. Opps, I ran past my 5 ;-) I also have been told my many people that I have an good sense of humor, my motto in life is "Learn to bend so you don't have to break".
