Description

The space

We have a small but cozy guest room with a double bed (140x200) on the second floor (two steep and narrow stairs). The bathroom is shared.

We own a not very sociable cat (I don't mean that she attacks, she just doesn't like to be petted by strangers).

We don't smoke and appreciate our guests not to smoke in the house either.

There is no need to bring your own towels or bedcovers. Everything will be provided.
We serve breakfast between 07.30 and 10.30 h.
(And for € 10 p.p. you can join us for diner).

free wifi

The neighborhood

Haarlem is a cozy ancient town, situated between Amsterdam and the Northsea coast beaches. We live on the edge of the city center. Right around the corner there is a large parking. The train station is at approx. 15 minutes walking distance. There is a direct bus line to the airport nearby.

All the sights of Haarlem are within walking distance and Amsterdam and the beach are only a 15 minutes train ride away.

Getting around

The train station is only 15 minutes walking away.
As we live in the city centre, there is no free parking. But there is a large parking right around the corner.

Other things to note

Our shop "De Groene Godin" (The Green Goddess) was voted the most "gezellige" (cozy / quaint) shop of Haarlem, three times in a row!

Would absolutely recommend this room to anybody and everybody. Haarlem is only a 15 minute train ride to Amsterdam, but after visiting, we wished we would've planned to stay in Haarlem longer than just two nights. Irmy and her family were incredibly welcoming, offered a great room, and the included breakfast was to die for. We hope to return to Haarlem soon and we will definitely try to stay here again!!

We had a wonderful stay at Irmy's place. Haarlem is a great area - everything you need in terms of shops, restaurants etc. but away from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. Irmy and her husband were welcoming and helpful. We were shown our cosy room, containing everything you could need, before being offered a drink and Dutch biscuits. The room was very clean and the bed exceptionally comfortable! The following morning we were greeted with the most amazing breakfast, with cheese and meats and also homemade jams and yoghurt! Also, if you're a fan of boardgames Irmy has plenty in her shop and she is very knowledgeable! We felt we had an authentic Dutch experience, thank you!

Our stay with Irmy was lovely. Her add is exactly as stated-small and cozy. She welcomed us with coffee and tea and gave us a lovely breakfast! She even had toiletries and a emergency box in our room. Would reccommend if you want to stay in central Haarlem

Neato shop. Privacy with bedroom. Also felt that Irmy was there for us if we needed anything / any advice. Yummy breakfast! Neighbours down the street had a party -- and we just turned on fan to drown out mild noise - worked perfectly. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Irmy and his husband are very nice and friendly people. The communication before was perfect. We love Irmys Fantasyshop, it's very interesting and she has a beautiful cat. It's 15-18 Min till Amsterdam Centraal and the way from Haarlem train station to the house is very near. The room where we slept is totally clean, also the bathroom/toilet. We spend one night there and it was beautiful. Nice lodging, Nice hosts, Nice place. We'll come back if we travel again to Amsterdam! Thanks Irmy :-)

This attic room is comfy and quiet albeit a little small for couples. The free Dutch breakfast is amazing, thanks!

Wim & Irmy are a friendly couple. Quiet and non-judgemental.
We own a small fantasy (book) shop and both have jobs on the side. Wim as a software engineer and Irmy as a bookkeeper.
Our motto is: We should enjoy here while we're here, 'cause there's no here there...
