About this listing
A small but comfortable room, in a street that is brimming with restaurants and has been voted several times over as best shopping street of the Netherlands.
We have a small but cozy guest room with a double bed (140x200) on the second floor (steep stairs). The bathroom is shared.
We own a not very sociable cat (I don't mean that she attacks, she just doesn't like to be petted by strangers).
We don't smoke and appreciate our guests not to smoke in the house either.
There is no need to bring your own towels or bedcovers. Everything will be provided.
We serve breakfast between 07.00 and 10.30 h.
(And for € 10 p.p. you can join us for diner).
Haarlem is a cozy ancient town, situated between Amsterdam and the Northsea coast beaches. We live on the edge of the city center. Right around the corner there is a large parking. The train station is at approx. 15 minutes walking distance. There is a direct bus line to the airport nearby.
All the sights of Haarlem are within walking distance and Amsterdam and the beach are only a 15 minutes train ride away.
The train station is only 15 minutes walking away.
As we live in the city centre, there is no free parking. But there is a large parking right around the corner.
Other Things to Note
Our shop "De Groene Godin" (The Green Goddess) was voted the most "gezellige" (cozy / quaint) shop of Haarlem!
We prefer you to check in between 10.30 am and 6 pm, but other times are sometimes possible.
My hosts are lovely, warm people who offered me and my friend a cosy room and delicious breakfast. Their house is magical due to unique atmosphere created by the books and pictures you can find everywhere.
The city of Amsterdam is remoted only 15-20min by train and the tickets are not expensive. Also Harlem itself is definitely worth seeing and spending a chiling evening in.

Irmy is een zeer aardig en interessant persoon. De kamer was klein, maar schoon, midden in het centrum in een mooie buurt van Haarlem, en het huis was schattig en vol met dingen om te ontdekken (vooral de winkel). Alles was prima. De kamer is wel vrij gehorig.
Het leukste was dat de kamer niet alleen een plek was om te slapen, maar ook om te ontdekken.
I had an absolutely interesting stay in at her house during my visit to Amsterdam. The train trip is a short 15-20mins travel and it is very worth it to take a look at both cities. haarlem is a wonderful place to see The Netherlands. Irmy was very friendly and helpful even when we arrived early, she offered us a little warm breakfast that she could cook up and that was certainly very pleasant. Her shop is full of curiosities that anyone of any age is sure to find something that catches their attention. Her place is clean as well.
I had a really comfortable stay at Irmy's. I felt very welcomed, Irmy and her man have been very obliging. Her little book store has been interesting as well. On top, she serves a great breakfast! The room is small but absolutely adequate if you're out all day. The room is very clean. It's located close to the Haarlem City Center.
The next time I'll come to Haarlem, I surely come back to Irmy as well.
Excellent host, making sure that your stay is pleasant and you are lacking nothing. Impressive breakfast, charming house
Irmy is a very nice person and extremely kind with us. Their house is above her fantasy shop which makes the stay more charming. The bed was really confortable. Irmy cooks us a delicious dusch breakfast what was amazing. Also Haarlem is a small and charming city very close to Amsterdam. highly recomend Irmys' place.
