About this listing
Spacious apartment with really high ceilings in a building from 16th century located in one of the handsomest streets in Prague connecting Prague Castle with the Old town.
This lovely apartment is located in the spacious Renaissance house Nr 244/25, with a Baroque facade, called "House of a Donkey by a Crib", it was the setting of Neruda's short story "A Week in a Quiet House" in Nerudova street in Little quarter (Malá Strana in czech:-)).
One of the handsomest streets in Prague is named after the poet and journalist Jan Neruda, who lived in the House at the Two Suns and the House at the Three Black Eagles. This street used to be the main route leading up to the Prague Castle - known as the Royal Route.
From Nerudova street you will find stairs to Prague Castle (only 2 minute walk from the apartment) from where you will get breathtaking view of Prague. Petrin Tower and its gardens and park is located in just 10 minute walking distance.
If you decide to explore Old Town you can follow the Royal Route via Charles Bridge (only 5 minute walk from the apartment). After a long day of exploring Prague you can take a Thai massage in the center located on the ground floor of the house - I will provide you with club cards for cheaper price;-)
The apartment is fully renovated with all new equipment. Everything is included for your memorable stay (bed linens and towels are also included). There are 2 single beds and bunk beds in the kitchen area so it suitable for 4 people. There is free wi-fi internet and TV with DVD player.
I leave cooled czech beer in the fridge for you, so please help yourself and have a taste of it!:-)
Please note that the apartment is in the historic center of Prague 1 and parking is very difficult in Prague 1 (there are blue parking zones only for residents). You can leave your car in Prague 5 - Smichov where it is still for free and I can drive you back by my car to the apartment.
Looking forward to welcoming you in Prague soon!!
You will have the whole apartment for yourself - use all the equipment as you like.
Interaction with Guests
Me, my boyfriend Jiri or our cleaner - one of us will be waiting for you in front of the building at organized check-in time to welcome you to the apartment. Please let me know your arrival details (flight/bus/train arrival time) so I can organize the check in easily.
Nerudova street is crowded by tourists during the day as it connects Prague castle with the Old Town but is quiet during the night. Petrin gardens with Petrin Tower (Prague's Eiffel Tower) is very close. Historic buildings in Nerudova street have their great charm - it's up to you to explore it:-)
All tourist attractions are close to the apartment. Public transport (tram Malostranske namesti and subway Malostranska stop - METRO) is 5 minutes from the apartment. Journey from the airport takes about 40 minutes by public transport - take bus number 119 from the airport to the stop Nadrazi Veleslavin and change to metro A green line and get off at Malostranska. Change to tram number 5 or 20 and get off at Malostranske namesti stop (just one stop) - walk up the hill to Nerudova street 244/25:-)
In case you prefer taxi - I can order it for you - driver would be waiting for you in the arrival hall with a sign with your name on it.
Other Things to Note
I love the airbnb community which I joined in 2012 as a guest and host. In June 2014, I listed second family's apartment near Old Town square (just 2 minutes walking distance) so in case my Neruda: Tales of the Little quarter apartment is booked, I would love to welcome you in my "2 minutes to Old Town Square" apartment ((website hidden)).
Czech Republic is well known for having one the best beers in the world - feel free to taste the one in the fridge:-)
Please, no smoking in the apartment. Due to the fact that the apartment is situated in historical building, try to be not too laud - try to avoid having parties in the apartment until early morning hours. You can cook your own meal in the kitchen but please wash the dishes after cooking. I would appreciate if you could leave the apartment in the similar clean condition as you found it. If you need anything, just text me on the airbnb messages, I will be more than happy to help you. Finally, let me know in your review how your stay was! Thanks! :-)
Excellent location and a clean place in the heart of Old Prague. Martina was great and the key was provided seamlessly. But it's super noisy around the clock and may not be suitable for families with kids or those less interested in Prague's excellent night life.
The apartment is very very nice and it is situate in the best area of Prague.
Martina was a very thoughtful host... She even provided cold beer in the fridge. Her apartment is in a beautiful, well-placed and historical location. Though it was lovely and clean, it did get very hot during the summer heat wave and we couldn't leave the windows open as the street was quite loud at night. This could not be helped though, and we would recommend her place to friends.
This apartment is located in an excellent spot in a central area within Prague. It's walking distance to both Oldtown and the castle, as well as various restaurants and bars. Martina made it extremely easy to get in and out, and was proactive in reaching out and making sure everything was ideal.
Overall, would recommend to others looking to stay in Prague!
Great place! Everything is perfect. Very spacious, very clean, 3 minutes away from the castle and 10 from the city centre. Martina was very helpful and the beds are super comfortable!
Do yourself a favor and stay here.
The location couldn't be any better - we walked everywhere. Martina was very helpful and was easy to reach throughout our stay. The apartment amenities were perfect for our family of four with young children.
