For guests that have flights out a bit later in the day, there is a really brilliant option in Hong Kong for travelers. It's called City Check in. Basically, you can check in at the Hong Kong Station (terminal for the Hong Kong Airport Express Train) up to 24 hrs prior to your scheduled departure time. They take your luggage and issue you a boarding pass. Then, you can wander the city until you are ready to board the train to the airport, walk through security, and off you go. Everything is taken care of for you. A lot of my guests do this and love the service. Please ask your flight operator for additional details regarding this option.
I have lived in Hong Kong for over 30 years and really look forward to meeting new guests and sharing some good visiting tips with travelers.

Interaction with Guests
As much as possible or invisible if you want. I will try to meet with arriving guests and show them the area. Whenever guests need information or recommendations, I am always available via messaging or phone.
Fantastic traditional Hong Kong neighborhood with lots of history at every street alley and corner. Local restaurants are a treat to experience and public transport is all around to get you to all places of the city.
Sheung Wan MTR is 5 min walk down the hill.
Trams, buses, mini buses, taxis are all just a stone's throw away to get you all throughout Hong Kong.
Other Things to Note
Once you arrive in Hong Kong, everything is quite simple and all starts with a call from the FREE phones at the airport located in the hall immediately after you pass through baggage customs. There is also a Visitors Center there if you would like to pick up some maps, local travel guides, etc. to read on your way to the apartment. If you need a local SIM card, there is a 7-11 in the middle section of the main arrival hall where they see all types of SIM cards, I usually prefer the PCCW brand as it is the larges local operator.
This is a Strictly NON SMOKING Flat.
UPON ARRIVAL AT PROPERTY, ALL GUESTS MUST WAIT FOR ME AT THE FRONT GATE OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING. BUILDING RESIDENTS WILL COMPLAIN TO PROPERTY MANAGEMENT IF THE LOBBY AREA INSIDE BUILDING IS BLOCKED. THANKS FOR YOUR KIND UNDERSTANDING FOR AN ENJOYABLE STAY.
Check in time is AFTER 12:30 pm. Make sure to contact us by phone at least 30 minutes prior to arrival such that we can meet you at the flat to hand you the keys and acquaint you to the surroundings. As this is a family business, please try your best to arrive at the apartment as early as possible. After 11:30pm as transport to the apartment is limited for us, we have to charge HKD150 to cover our taxi transport cost to and from the apartment. We are generally exhausted at the end of the day and we really would rather you arrive early and not have to charge this.
Guests must wait for us OUTSIDE the building upon arrival and not enter the building without us as this causes unnecessary misunderstandings with the property management and residents of the buildings.
Check out time is STRICT at 11:00 am. NO EXCEPTIONS or you will be charged for an extra full day. Our cleaning crew will arrive at 11:00 am to service the flat for the next guest, thanks for your cooperation.
Please help us save the environment by turning off electrical appliances when leaving the apartment or not using them.
Water heater needs to be turned off when not using. If it breaks due to prolonged time left on, you will not have any hot water for your stay and will be subject to expensive repair charges.
In the case that you have an evening departure flight:
Please note that you can check in your luggage at anytime during the same day as your flight at the Hong Kong Station Airport Express, which is only a 5 minute taxi or bus ride from the apartment. That way you would be free to explore the city on your last day, not having to worry about your luggage or rushing to the airport since you have already checked in, you will not have to be at the airport as early as everyone else.
All airlines flying from Hong Kong airport offer In Town check in, EXCEPT the following:
Jetstar Asia Airlines
The location of the apartment is perfect-- right in the heart of Sheung Wan and easy to locate due to its proximity to Man Mo Temple. There are tons of restaurants and bars within walking distance and it's just a short walk from the MTR. I thought that the apartment was great for just me, but once my boyfriend arrived things got a bit tight! As others have said, the shower is very, very small and you must be careful not to get water outside of the shower area as there is no drain and it will flood below the toilet.
The apartment itself was very clean and I loved the open windows and natural light-- it allows for a great view of the city. There is also a small rooftop one floor up that is nice for reading/taking photos of the skyline. The only downsides of the apartment was that the place was missing a stove/hot plate (though it is equipped with pots/pans) and only had 1/2 roll of toilet paper when I arrived, so I had to buy some at the 711 down the street.
Overall, great experience and Brendan was very accommodating and let us stay until we could move into our new apartment close by. I would certainly recommend staying here.
I had a great experience at this cozy little flat. Yes, it is very small and the little shower was a challenge for my 6'2" body, but it was what I expected. The location is fantastic with a very short walk to many great cafés and pubs. Also, great communication from the host.
This little studio was just as described - close quarters, but an unbeatable location and being so high up meant there was a nice breeze and little noise. We didn't meet Brendan, but he was responsive and easy to communicate with. Would absolutely stay again!
I would not book this room and I should not have. The reasons are:
-The host does not respond promptly.
-The room looks best in the photos. You will hardly be impressed with the place. You may not fit in the bathroom, either.
-The area is not very attractive. With a bit more money, you can book a better and more hygienic hotel room since hotels offer
rooms at discounted prices.
-Whatever happens with the host, you will be blamed. If something in the room is missing or you lose contact with him,
it could be all your fault.
In fact, I did not stay in this room, where I was supposed to stay for three days. And I have been asking for the refund
and the host has been declining.

Mihee and her boyfriend were extremely happy when I met them at the door of the building; and they were also extremely happy and laughing when I left them at the flat.
I tell all my guests, multiple times in fact to call me from the courtesy phones at the airport to schedule a time to meet at the flat in case of any delays in flights, customs clearance and luggage retrieval. For whatever reason Mihee did not. Even so, I was there to meet them within 20 minutes after they called me from a nearby shopping mall where they were having lunch; so we arrived there approximately the same time.
After carefully taking them through the flat and giving them all the necessary information; I even took them down to my car to get them an adaptor for their phones. They seemed genuinely happy and ready to start their great stay in Hong Kong.
Then once I left, according to Mihee, her boyfriend told Mihee he wanted a boutique hotel instead; so they then started sending me messages about a bad experience. Complaining about everything and being super difficult and unreasonable. I was completely surprised and shocked.
I would echo a lot of what others have said about this space. It is small (be prepared for a tiny shower), but it's clean, and in a great neighbourhood. This place is worthwhile if you're looking for a home base while out exploring Hong Kong. The Wifi and air con were excellent. I also liked how the apartment is slightly removed from the bars, shops and restaurants at Mid-Levels, but close enough that you can walk over for a late meal or drink. It is also an easy walk down to the MTR subway lines when you want to go further afield.
Brendan himself was great to deal with. He was quick to respond, and gave good instructions on how to get to the apartment and also gave good directions for orienting ourselves. His mom met us with the keys and the transfer went pretty smoothly. Also, his mom had impressive Canto for someone who grew up in the States! Made me want to brush up on my Chinese.

I was born in California and raised in Hong Kong. Went to college in the states and returned to Hong Kong a few years ago. I absolutely love travelling around the region but Hong Kong has always welcomed me home and I look forward to showing off my home town and sharing all the little insights and local specialities with all my guests!
