Wanted an apt for a family Xmas and to see the New Year fireworks, and we wern't (website hidden) soon as entered the apt , it felt like home.Plenty of space, light airy rooms, balcony with a view.A great little place in the corner of Balmain.Lovely friendly neighbours too, which all makes the stay that bit special.Itwas a real pleasure coming back after a day out and able to relax in comfort.Michael was a brilliant host, nothing was too much trouble. We met up with him a week before moving in , had a nice chat and coffee with him, then he very kindly took us into Balmain and showed us around.Even though it was a two bed apt, with four adults and a baby staying, Michael was happy for our other daughter to stay without an extra charge. He told us to treat it like our own home and didn't mind us rearranging some of the furniture to accommodate the all important Xmas tree.We had such a fab time there and were really sorry to be leaving.Would certainly recommend Michaels lovely (website hidden) was perfect for us, and will be back again.
Fabulous apartment in a great location.!!
I arrived from the UK to spend xmas with my kids who have been back packing around Oz. The apartment is large, well furnished with everything you need for a holiday, including the pool, which we were greatful for on those really hot days. We decided not to hire a car as the local bus services are great, if you walk to to Roberts Rd/Victoria Rd junction which is about 15 mins flat you can catch the bus into the city or straight to Bondi. The bus only takes pre paid tickets which can be bought at most newsagents the nearest is 5 mins walk from the apt. The best value ticket is the travel 10 which allows you 10 rides and saves going to the shop every 5 mins. We spent NYE at Ballast Point park which was free, had fab views and you could take your own beer. The atmosphere was great with people from all ages including families, I well recommend it, although it is about a 30 min walk we didnt arrive till 8pm and there was plenty of room to view the fireworks on the harbour bridge and the boat light parade. Don't pay for the boat cruises it is cheaper to book the ferry to Manly beach and you get a 30 min cruise around Sydney included. Tamarra Zoo is well worth a trip better than the Sydney Wildlife centre on Darling Harbour. Every Sat night there is a firework display on Darling Harbour at 9pm we got there at 8pm and managed to get in a restaurant with front line table to watch them without making a reservation, try the Waterfront Grill best steaks ever, try the Kangaroon fillet, superb.
There are lots of local restaurants on Darling ST which is about a 15 minuete walk with Woolies being the local supermarket and is open late every night.
I was so sad to leave both the apartment and Sydney and hope to return soon. I will definately stay in Michaels apartment again and if I could move to OZ, Balmain is defo the place to live.
