So an ideal home base to explore in all directions. It is in a Balinese area with many great small local restaurants nearby. Right next door is a great restaurant which makes delicious BBQ chicken or fish, fried rice and fried noodles all Bali style of course.

I would like to share my unique home and knowledge of local balinese culture and attractions with open hearted souls looking for an alternative to the usual tourist experience.

We seek to provide a safe space for people of all genders, sexualities, races, religions.

Dragon Pyramid Homestay is the birthplace of Crazy Wanders Foundation Bali. So we provide lessons on Yoga and Dhyan (Meditation), balinese dance, cooking, massage and much much more. v

  • We arrived at Sally's to the most warm welcome ... She arranged a driver to pick us up from the airport ... Moter-bike rental is easy ... Cheap and delicious food just around the corner and just a generally chilled atmosphere .... One night Sally ordered a big bali feast we all tucked in and was amazing ... Rooms are clean ... Breakfast is delish ... We felt totally at home ...
We will be returning there at the end of our tour around Bali ... Sally will guide and help you, she is a lovey person we totally recommend staying here.

  • Staying at Sally's was an amazing introduction to Bali culture, she had lots of information to share about various areas in Bali and made me feel really welcome in her home.
The room I stayed in was comfortable with a huge bed and good working air con, which I really appreciated as I'm not used to the heat!
A great stay and perfect for anyone looking to experience local Balinese culture for an affordable price!
    Thank you Sally!

  • Dragon Pyramid was a wonderful place to call home for the six nights we stayed with Sally.
The room was lovely as was the rest of the property. We stayed in the Pool Side room which had heaps of space and a wonderful outdoor shower. Enjoyed the chance to talk with and meet so many wonderful people in the properties common area.Sally and her staff went above and beyond to help us with travel plans and making the most of Bali.
Magik monkey and the dogs are really great as well :)

  • Review for Dragon Pyramid - POOL SIDE Bedroom.

Location: Easily located and accessible. Clear directions given, not far from main road.

Host: Sally is GREAT. Witty, accommodating, always on-hand to provide the clearest instructions and advice to get around the area. 2 Thumbs-up! The airport pick-up on our arrival was unavailable due to weather problems, but Sally was quick to provide alternatives. Airport drop-off was great; Sally has the best driver on-hand to avoid all the traffic jams!

Bedroom: There’s about 5 other rooms, but POOL SIDE Bedroom has Bali-feel, many wooden facilities! Friendly ambience. Bed is comfortable so you can sleep in well. Aircon (AC) is relatively stable and cool. Toilet-cum-shower is private and cool, however is semi-open air. No worries about peeping toms. A really refreshing change compared to city-like enclosed toilets

Other facilities/hygiene: We really like the common area, where everybody in the household can interact. You can really spend an entire evening chatting up with the other guests and with Sally, and conversations are never dull. Internet connection (Wi-Fi only) is relatively stable and fast except for small random downtime, but Sally is always on hand to get it up and running again. We noted that our iPhone and Android phones cannot pick-up the Wi-Fi signal in our bedroom at all. Area is relatively clean, except for some mosquito issues here and there. Sally provided repellent to keep them away! Housekeeper (not Sally) keeps the place clean and tidy everyday! Pool water is cooling and refreshing.

Nearby: MANY convenience stores and restaurants (warungs) in the area. No fear of getting hungry.

Misc: Keeps a few pet dogs and a pet monkey. Extremely warm and friendly household. No discrimination here! Sally got us motorcycle which is a great way to explore Bali.

Photos accuracy: Posted photos on Airbnb are accurate, view with confidence.

Recommended?: YES YES YES, extremely nice place. Book with confidence that you’ll leave with smiles! :)

  • We chose to stay at the Dragon Pyramid first of all because of the unique circular building. Doors and windows all around the apex room! Would've loved to spend more time in the room, the house and chat with Sally and Boi had it not been for the crazy itinerary we got ourselves into! And then there's the cute dogs... Will definitely come back. -dewi-

  • We are having a fantastic time at Sally and Boi´s truly unique home, and find it highly recommendable.

We started out by booking a room for a single night, but we feel so much “at home” that we are going to stay until we leave Bali in a month.

Sally and Boi have been very kind, from the second we arrived, and it feels like we are living with family. They have both been more than helpful, and after a few days with them, we have already had some “new Bali experiences” we have not had in our first 3 months here. It is very lovely (and important for us) to feel “at home” and “safe” since we will be here for a while.

Boi´s cooking lessons are absolutely worth a try. The food is incredible and the mood in the kitchen is so warm and full of laughter. Boi is an oracle when it comes to knowledge about Bali, and it is hard to imagine a better tour guide.

The house is absolutely amazing and so unique, so if you are trying to escape from the white, square hotel rooms with no soul, this is a great option. The neighbourhood is great and very friendly, and you will be able to find almost everything at ¼ of what the prices in the Kuta area. Sally and Boi can show you an amazing place to buy the most fantastic plate of duck (!).

We are looking forward to spending our last month with Sally, Boi and their adorable dogs, and we will without a doubt recommend you to book a stay at the Dragon Pyramid.

  • Sally & Boi's Dragon Pyramid is a really unique experience. It's a little like a hostel because of the social living space yet feels really intimate as there are only a few rooms. Everyone gets along and invites you to join in with whatever the plan is.Sally is a genuinely warm and welcoming lady, perfect to greet you on arrival in Bali plus she has tons of useful and local knowledge, and Boi offers to teach you all of his many skills from guitar playing to surfing! It was a pleasure to stay in their home. Thank you both!

  • We were 3 girls around 30 who stayed at sally and boi's place for 2 nights. We had an amazing time with them and the others guest. They are really helpfull, they will answer all of your questions and much more. Its a really small place with only a couple of rooms, a nice pool and an amazing little domestic monkey called Magic!!
Breakfast is really good too and its possible to use their scooter!
Sally is a person who can make everybody having fun together. Also, Semyniak beach is about 15min by scooter from their place. So many nice warungs to eat balineese food around.
We recommend it for everyone!! :)
Be carefull the street is very hard to find for the taxi driver

  • It was the first place I stayed with my girlfriend in Bali, and I think is a good place for newcomers of everywhere they come. Sally is perfect as a host, she runs her business very nicely. Many people come over and stay for a couple of hours or a three days to say hello and share news of interest for the people who is staying there by the moment. I have appreciated very much the feeling of hospitality the place has. Great for her and her place.

About
Hello my new Friends!! Sally is Australian and first came to Bali with Australian Volunteer International working as a midwife consultant/capacity builder helping to establish a Birth Centre for the Poor of Bali in Denpasar. She then fell in love Boi and with Bali and now lives here. Sally still provides consultancy for the Birth Centre and donates 10% of the homestay income to supporting the women, babies and families who use the clinic. i have now opened my home to guests and I am having so much fun sharing life and Balinese culture with my homestay family. My life is not perfect but it is full of love and humanity. “Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.” Mother Teresa
