Located in historic San Luis Obispo, CA on the central coast and right in the middle of wine country. Approx 9 miles to Moro Bay, Pismo, Oceano Dunes, and Avila Beach. Walk or bike downtown or to Cal Poly, both are about a mile from your room. We are also within a short drive to numerous lakes which are great for wake boarding, fishing, or kayaking.
We have great restaurants, unique shops, and amazing walking paths along the creek downtown. Frisbee golf in wide open parks, museums, hiking and wineries are also waiting to be explored. We have spectacular views in every direction. Borrow our bikes and leave your car behind, or simply start walking and you'll be hiking the beautiful trails within minutes.
Our remodeled home is of 50’s era, located right on the slope of San Luis Mountain looking over to Bishop's Peak. The trail heads to either summit are a short neighborhood walk away and the views from the top are amazing. Our neighborhood is very quiet, safe, and tranquil, perfect for either a relaxing weekend, or a work trip that requires some concentration.
Your cozy bedroom is in the older wing of the house and has its own bathroom with walk-in shower with a very comfortable queen Beautyrest pillow top bed. This remodeled wing has the office, spare room, and guest bath near the entry way so it is very quiet and separate from the upstairs master where the owners sleep. It's very easy to come and go without interruption.
The extra room and shared bathroom can accommodate another 2 people, perfect for kids on the air bed. They will have their own full bathroom with tub and shower. The office is also available for use with internet, printing, copy, and fax at no extra charge.
The space is set up in a way that allows the privacy of a hotel room, the amenities of a B&B, and the feel of staying with good friends. We're looking forward to your visit.

Russ and Cheryl's home is beautiful, filled with treasures, family memories, and light, and magic views of Bishop. This was matched with warm hospitality that makes a visitor feel part of the family. Our weekend stay couldn't have been better. Five stars only begins to rate our experience.
Russ & Cheryl have a future (and perhaps have had a past too) in the B&B business. Their 'Zen-like retreat' at the base of Bishop's Peak was the perfect home for us and our toddler for 3 nights. They willingly accommodated my quirky toddler needs and allowed us to use the adjacent room for him to sleep in his pack-n-play. While perhaps coincidence, they were mostly out of the house giving us free reign over their common spaces. We greatly enjoyed our brief interactions over breakfast when Russ laid out fresh fruit, pastries and coffee and tea - who knew you could get this level of service on AirB&B?
We would happily stay with them again and hope you will as well. You won't regret paying half the price of the local hotels (Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, etc.) and finding yourself in a little oasis a 5 minute drive to downtown SLO. Oh, and did I mention how comfortable the Bed, the towels and the Robe were? I wish I could go back!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay this past weekend with Cheryl and Russ in their lovely San Luis Obispo home! Their house is very comfortable is every respect: beautifully designed and decorated, spacious, immaculately clean, and with a layout that allows for privacy for both the hosts and their guests. It is conveniently located to downtown SLO and all of the destinations and activities the region has to offer. But the best part of staying here was meeting Cheryl and Russ, who are both very warm, hospitable, and easy to chat with. They were very helpful in offering suggestions for places to go, things to do, restaurants, etc., and went above and beyond by providing breakfast, including delicious omelettes made-to-order by "Chef Russ!" We will definitely check to see if we can stay with Cheryl and Russ any time we are visiting SLO, and can highly recommend them as airbnb hosts!
We were delightfully surprised to walk into this truly beautiful home. The decor is lovely, the entire main floor (which we were graciously invited to use as our own) was spacious and well designed. Best of all, Russ and Cheryl were the kindest hosts. They even lent us their bikes and helmets so we could ride to Cal Poly, the town and see old friends. Can't thank them enough! Definitely a 5 star stay!
We had an awesome time in SLO w/ Russ & Cheryl! We were two thirty-something couples staying in the two bedrooms listed. We planned a last minute get away over the long Thanksgiving weekend. The house is very clean and beautifully decorated. And the best part is the location! Close to downtown SLO, hiking Bishop's Peak, biking to Avila beach, wine tasting in Paso Robles, or hot mineral springs. We felt a 'make yourself at home' atmosphere right from the beginning with Russ & Cheryl. And besides being very hospitable they were quick to give us a good recommendation or point us in the right direction. If you're planning a trip to Central Coast, stay here...you'll love it!
We loved our stay at Russ and Cheryl's home, it was perfect in every way. Their home is lovely and upscale, beautifully decorated, super clean and inviting. They are great hosts, very friendly and helpful with information about restaurants and things to do, yet they were respectful of our need for privacy and we had a huge area of the home to ourselves. Russ and Sheryl asked when we were going to be up, and cooked us a fabulous hot breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, pancakes, bacon and hot coffee in their beautiful kitchen. The bed is very comfortable, the down bedding is heavenly, and the decor in the room is very restful. I highly recommend them to anyone staying in the SLO area, we will definitely be staying with them again when we are in the area. First class in every respect!!
Russ and Cherly and fantastic, I highly recommend staying with them in SLO. The house is beautiful, has a great view, and good amenities like a pool table and outside heater if you want to relax.
My buddy Ken and I took the two available rooms and they were comfortable and quiet. The rooms have great light, good decor, and are quite comfortable. One great point-- it is easy to come and go without making noise on your side of the house. This is always important to me because I hate disturbing people if I come back to the house late.
Extra points for superior hospitality. Russ and Cheryl know a ton about SLO and pointed us to some great spots to enjoy the central coast. They also make some pretty good homemade salsa if you're there at the right time!
Book it, you won't regret it!

My wife and I are both from California and have lived in San Luis Obispo since '91 raising our two boys. Both are out of college, working, and paying taxes. Hoorah, and yes it's an empty nest. We both come from the service industry, where we met in the early 80's. We love the "SLO Life" and love hosting guests; friends, family, or whomever we can get to visit. We enjoy working, oddly enough so we're both involved in several businesses, including a recent start up. When we're not doing that we enjoy food, wine, travel, sports, hiking, biking, golfing, camping and other outdoor activities. We especially love to entertain and meet new people so with the kids gone, Airbnb makes a lot of sense for us.
As a host, we aim to provide the best experience possible. You will have a very clean and comfortable room, privacy and security, local information, easy come and go, and just the right amount of conversation.
