The Space

I'm usually not home except on weekends, so I'm offering my house in downtown Toronto to share. Its a nice space, open concept and chill. You have full access to the house, and its basic amenities. The front porch is great for people watching.
The house is 2 min walk to big supermarket bar coffee pharmacy bank etc. 5 min to Cabbage town and Distillery District. 10 min to Eaton Center and Queen street east. You are between the Dundas and Queen street cars which will take you all over downtown.
High speed internet and computer are included "House of Saints" or "Bell701" - the password is my 10-digit phone #.
Since you're living in my home, common sense and courtesy are essential. Aside from tiding up after yourself, I'm particular about cleanliness of the kitchen and bathroom. Still I don't take shoes off, unless they're wet dirty or slushy, so enjoy yourself.
Two of the 3 bedrooms are available for guests. This listing is for the smallest room with a computer, and a double mattress on top of a futon.
Bartering is available: If you are willing to sweep, mop, wash/dry sheets, and wipe the bathroom and kitchen clean, you'll get back the $50 cleaning fee, which is due upon arrival. Task rebates are also available for long term dwellers.
"Temporary toronto on-street parking" is available for ~$22/week - please search for the link.
Enjoy your travels and this great (website hidden) My home is rather suited for an intuitive free spirited soul since I'm rarely home to take care of you. No offence, but I'm refusing travellers who strike me as needy.

  • I loved staying at this house. Kamal is a kind person and host. The house is clean, simple with cosy kind of modern-cottage feeling to it. It was an easy place to live, and I completely fell in love with Rafa, his well behaved, sweet, little dog, who I cuddled, walked, and laughed with.

  • Kamal is great host. Good cook. Nice person. Everything was ok. I had a great time there and also it was great meeting other people living there.

  • Really great place. Clean house, great room, and an awesome location. In downtown, walking distance to anywhere, or you can just take a streetcar to anywhere. Kamal is also really generous and welcoming. It was a wonderful stay.

  • I only stayed a short time at the house and never got to meet Kamal but the place was great and I really liked the area. I spoke with Kamal on many occasions and found him to be a very hospitable host, I will certainly be staying there again when I go back to Toronto.

  • Kamal is a great host. I had a really good time. I just saw him twice during my whole stay. He is very supportive and also generous! I'd go back there right away if I return to Toronto!

  • Absolutely lovely place to stay with all of the amenities! Just steps from the streetcar on a great little quiet street. Great instructions from Kamal on how to get in and where to find everything. Thanks for the flexibility!

  • I stayed for 2 weeks. The house is exactly as portrayed and the feedback from other guests I read before booking is accurate. The host is only home at weekends and I was out most of the time so we met cordially only on a couple of occasions. Kamal is helpful and responds quickly to queries. The house is clean, tidy and warm. The town centre is walking distance but some guests might find the journey a little intimidating through a rough part of town but there are trams and taxis. All amenities are close by. Read the reviews and Kamal's instructions and you won't be disappointed.

  • Kamal's home was very charming. He's paid attention to the details of his homes renovation and it really shows as it is quite a unique home. An incredible value for being pretty close to the main downtown areas. No issues with the place. The shower head made for a very comfortable shower. It was a little frustrating that the bedroom door wouldn't lock or even stay shut, but after putting my suitcase against it, I was okay. Friends of mine commented that the neighborhood was "not one of Toronto's nicer areas," but I felt pretty comfortable while staying there.

  • Really cool place. Great location. Even better than advertised overall. Kamal was a great host and available to respond to any questions or issues I had. Would definitely stay again!

  • Does what it says on the tin: a room for those that don't need looking after. If you're DYI then this is the place for you. Place is well connected on East/West and North/South street car lines. Buses also run close by. Other amenities/attractions which are close: a cheap supermarket, Subway, a car hire place and the distillery district.

The room we were in was a futon and was slightly unclean when we arrived. That said, it did the trick and was great value.

Owner wasn't home during the week but him and his girlfriend were there on the weekend. We felt slightly in the way when they were home, but that was fine as we're out most of the time.

About
I love to travel, especially backpacking to pristine places, surrounded by nature, immersed in water. I've done Europe, I love South America but I'm reluctant of Asia's contaminations. I've never bnb'ed but I think sharing is bliss. My interests are multi-faceted, but on a typical day, I drink Americanos, enjoy almond croissants and endure hot yoga. I'm looking forward to meeting you, and sharing a drink.
