  • My wife and I recently stayed five nights in Sam's apartment. While small (it is a studio, after all), the space was clean and met our needs as a base from which to explore the lower half of the island on foot. For going further afield, there is a subway station entry on the same block and a couple others within a ten minute walk. There are plenty of places to eat within a five or ten minute walk. We wanted a reasonably priced place in one of lower Manhattan's neighborhoods, and smack in the middle of the West Village/Greenwich Village Sam's place fit our bill perfectly.

  • Sam's place is the perfect base from which to explore the most magnificent city in the world and soak up that amazing NYC vibe. His apartment, although small, is comfortable, clean and just right for 2 people. Best of all is the awesome and convenient location - the West Village is where it's at!

One tip: If you're a light sleeper, then you may struggle a bit with the noise. I would suggest that you just suck it up (you're not in New York to sleep anyway). And if desperate, get some earplugs.

Sam was a really great host and made my first Airbnb experience a breeze. His professional yet relaxed approach quickly put me at ease with the idea of staying in a stranger's home. Plus he's a genuinely nice guy (by the way, thanks again Sam for carrying my heavy suitcase up the stairs!). Communication with Sam throughout the whole process was fantastic. I really appreciated that he even took the time to touch base with us during our stay notwithstanding that he was overseas on holidays) to make sure that we were ok and having a good time.

I would happily and whole-heartedly recommend staying in Sam's place to anyone.

  • The studio was very nice and clean, the location is the best, and Sam is an AWESOME host! Sam is kind, caring and thoughtful! He had maps, guides and suggestions of where to eat/sightsee on day of arrival which was very helpful. Staying at Sam's studio was by far better than staying at a hotel, 100x! I definitely highly recommend and will stay again!

  • Sam's apartment was lovely in West Village, it was small but it was all I needed and very central to everything. It is the perfect place for someone visiting for the first time to New York as its in such a fantastic and buzzing area.
Sam was a pleasure to deal with and even left a tour book for me which was very thoughtful.
My overall experience was a very positive one and I would love to stay there again in the future.

  • I've had the pleasure of staying at Sam's place and it's been just great. He was a wonderful host, giving tips on places worth visiting in the neighborhood and checking in a few times to make sure everything was alright. He also made the key exchange very easy. A really nice apartment at an unbeatable location, I can warmly recommend his place to anyone looking for a good time in New York.

  • Sam was a terrific host - could not have asked for any better.

Our trip was planned to coincide with Superstorm Sandy. Sam kept in touch throughout the Storm, keeping us updated on the power situation. He even allowed us the option to delay our stay. Sam had left water for us and considering lots of the shops were sold out this was a lovely gesture. The key exchange was super easy. Sam's place was in a great, very cultural location. His apartment was clean and he had left us new towels and lots of blankets. We had issues with the tv the first night and Sam was super helpful, calling us back straight away and telling us how to operate it, which considering it was quite late was over and above what we expected.
I would highly recommend Sam's place to anyone travelling to NYC it is in a great location and very close to a CVS, Starbucks and the Subway (but personally i preferred to walk everywhere). Like most NYC apartments there is not much room for big travelling bags but i assume that is a common thing with the majority of places. Also Sam's place is on the first floor so a blessing if you do have lots of luggage. My one comment would be the bathroom was a little dirty but considering there was no power before we arrived i can't imagine this will be a common occurence.
Thanks for making our trip Sam!

I grew up in Los Angeles and moved to New York in May of 2011. I am a big fan of NYC and I love to travel. I have visited 35 countries so far and plan to visit all 206 in my lifetime. I love meeting new and interesting people and the best way to do that is going everywhere. I am a big fan of rock climbing, river rafting, scuba diving, surfing and whatever else is awesome. My favorite quote which has become my motto is from The Beach: "Never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It's probably worth it." -Leo My style of traveling is live in the present, enjoy and go. There is a lot to see out there but you have to go out there to see it.
