This gem is located in a private neighborhood, but within walking distance of historic downtown and restaurants. Vance and Kristin are welcoming, personable and very helpful. The house is full of touches that make it feel like home, with plenty of 'frig and freezer space for food, a kitchen, dining table and living room. We stayed in both the Lavender Room and Bamboo Room (our favorite), which were both comfortable and had cool little sleeping nooks in addition to the beds, in case you need to sleep a third person in the room. We would definitely (and probably will) stay here again. You made our trip feel more like a homecoming than a mere vacation, Vance and Kristin. Thank you for your hospitality.

My 2nd stay with Vance and Kristin was as great as the first stay. Amazing hosts, great location, I love the bamboo room. I also love the attention to detail and how well run the house is. The owners take great pride in doing a fantastic job.

The Bamboo room is particularly nice; spacious with a comfortable bed. Plenty of storage too if you're staying for a while, and a comfortable chair for cozying in and reading. The kitchen is VERY well stocked with pots/pans/dishes and the table is big enough for a good sized group.

My family loved our stay at Vance & Kristin's. the hosts go out of their way to make you welcome and are very knowledgeable about the area. Their house is perfectly situated near the Uptown area with plenty of eateries to try, Trap Door Brewery, E-San and Bleu Door being our favorites. Public transportation is about 2 blocks away and takes you straight downtown to where the 105 express bus will take you to Portland. Downtown Vancouver has a wonderful library and Black Rock Coffee Bar across the street. We loved the hospitality of both Vance and Kristin. The bamboo room provided us with a clean, a restful night of sleep and the porch had a relaxing hammock and rocking chairs. The kitchen is nicely appointed with everything you need to make a home cooked meal. I would definitely stay again.

This place is great! Vance is as friendly and as kindhearted as it gets. A real gentleman and good guy. The house is spacious, quiet, and with all the little odds and ends of a house. They even have two extra fridges for guests, which I found very helpful. The wifi is great, bathrooms are clean, rooms spacious. Probably one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on! Seriously, get the bamboo room if you can. It was perfect. I'll be back if they'll have me!

Kristin and Vance made the arrival and checking in process very smooth and I found out it is important to read the info they provide you with. The Bamboo room is beautiful as well as fairly large and I took full advantage of the desk and alcove reading bed which were great features. Communication from Kristin was great and most everything I feel should be standard with an airbnb listing was provided. The parking is street parking which was fine and the location is excellent if you wanted to walk around Vancouver. Lots of restaurants close by as well. The internet left something to be desired since it wasn't actually working when I arrived (should be getting fixed) and when it was working, it was on the slow side. The Bamboo listing failed to mention that laundry costs $2.50 to wash then ANOTHER $2.50 to dry, but the provided info stated the overall $5 fee. When drying your clothes, be sure to open the windows since the dryer is not vented properly.

Response from Kristin & Vance:
Thanks, Kenton, for your nice words by phone about our home being one of the nicest Airbnb stays you have ever had. Sorry for the internet slowdown, now resolved. We encourage all guests to read our listing and welcome sheet fully, including the $5 per load honor system. Guests tell us it's a deal and convenient, versus a trip to the laundromat. We wish you well in your travels!

Well done home with plenty to do close by. Kristin was great, always helpful and responsive. The room was large enough for up to three guests it felt like so I had plenty of space. The basement was cool in the summer so that was nice. All in all a lovely home to come back to.

We are an active family of 4 who relish meeting new people. As 20-year Vancouver residents, we'd be happy to share with you all that we know about the area. From the 17 wineries now in Clark County, Washington (one in our family) to the array of cultural events in nearby Portland, OR, we look forward to sharing our house and surroundings with you. We enjoy hiking, biking, tennis, traveling, musical events, pickleball, words, philosophy, books, winery and brewery tours, organic cooking and dining, farmers' markets and more.

If you host us, you can expect to find your place in the condition in which you provided us or better. We're quiet, respectful guests interested in hearing your story.
