Situated in Rome,in the heart of the area called "Celio", on Via S.Giovanni in Laterano. The Celian Hill is one of the oldest area of city, charecterized by an authentic and relaxed style of life, and the apartment is ideally located for tours and excursion in the archaeological areas. The apartment consist of a room with doble four-poster bed, a separate kitchen, and a bathroom with shower. There is a beautiful view on to the deliciuous church of S.Clemente. The apartment comes equipped with security door, independent heating, and television. It is 30 square meters large and is located on the second floor. The Colosseum, the Imperial Forum, Piazza Venezia, the Circus Maximus and the Baths of Caracalla are situated within a few minutes walking distance from the apartment. Public transportation, including buses, trams and both metro lines, connect this area with the rest of the city. There area an abundance of restaurants and bars, and services of every kind are readily available.
Achille is a very good person. The check-in was on time and he was there waiting us. The apartment is basic, but functional. The best thing about the apartment is location. It's near metro. The street is wonderful. No WIFI. Check-out no flexible.
Achille was a good and friendly host; communication with him was very clear during and after the booking process. We arrived and departed late, but with a small fee he accomodated that which was great in this holiday season. We met in front of the apartment building around midnight where Achille gave us some great directions to get us started on our Rome adventure. There was no checkout; which allowed us to stay all the way until our evening flight out departed.
The most important thing to know about this place: location, location, location. Very near to Colosseum, walking distance to virtually all historic sites and everything Rome has to offer; and great links to public transportation should you not want to walk. Great!
Downtown Rome means cobble stones roads means noise, but you will experience that staying in any old urban area.
The apartment itself is functional, but very basic. The pictures on AirBnB are accurate, though I must say when daytime came we were slightly disappointed with the darkness of the place as it only has one small window. The rug in front of the bed is stained and needs renewal, the linens and curtains at minimum need thorough cleaning as I am sure that wil brighten up the place more than the small window can.
There is an electric heater that is sufficient to warm up the entire room in winter; and also the shower has plenty hot water to shower two people comfortably. It is however a sit-down shower (no place to hang the hose). Takes a bit getting used to, but functional. The kitchen works, but there is not an overabundance of usable items in it. Essentials like a water boiler, or even wine glasses were missing.
All in all a good place that i could recommend if you are looking for something basic, functional with a good location - are you looking for something more special; this may not be your place.
