Hear and glimpse monkeys, iguanas, toucans and a myriad of other birds, amongst 1 acre of landscaped grounds and 4 acres of jungle. Ever smell real cinnamon? pick your own lemon grass? Located in Hatillo mountain 7klm north of Dominical and the road ends at our gate! no passing traffic to disturb your sleep only the birds songs. Main floor dedicated to 2 guest rooms ,each with private bath ,queen bed or 2 twin beds/king-with private entrance and patio with ocean view.Bring your two children or another couple and be the only guests here. Close to many tourist attractions. Room to make art too as owner is artist and chef. Gourmet breakfast included with the room. Optional three course dinners with a tropical twist are available for a fee-and reserved 24 hrs in advance.

Guest access

The pool , guests patio and grounds. Welcome to screened in upstair verandah for breakfast. Possible eat in dinner upon 24 hr notice.

Interaction with guests

Hostess Colette is present to help you with loan of beach chairs etc. and give you directions to unknown beaches.

The neighborhood

Close to so many activities and Manuel Antonio park as well as at least 3 local different beaches within 10 minutes drive . I will tell you where they are and directions, not evident to general public.

Getting around

I strongly suggest you rent a car because the bus system exists down the mountain (not easy to climb back up) and not reliable. Consider that waiting under hot sun is not for everyone... You can rent a car locally as well if you do not want to negotiate the trip from airport to the B&B (less than 3 hours) Provider National and/or Hertz.

Other things to note

***Be sure to arrive before 5pm in daylight. or you'll have a very very hard time finding the place in the black in the jungle!

We enjoy our vacations so much, the villa we rent was beatiful, very private and with an awesome ocean view. Colette was a very nice host and easy talking person, she helps us with every questions we had. The only tip that I will suggest is to go on a 4x4 vehicle.

Beautiful house and stunning setting. Photos are accurate. Lovely, gourmet breakfast provided overlooking the beautiful gardens, pool with ocean in the distance. Gourmet dinner also available for an additional, reasonable change. Our issue with this property was access. We had rented a small car which we had driven for hours on pot-holed dirt roads near Monteverde. But this did not prepare us for the steep road to the property. Although it was paved, there were big ruts in some places. We were not able to make it up the road. Colette drove us up, but we had to leave our car, wondering about security. We ended up exchanging our car for one with 4-wheel drive. Even then, we scraped the under-carriage in a couple spots. I highly recommend 4x4 for this property.

Response from Colette:
thank you so much for your great review. I am so sorry about your predicament before you arrived here. In my defense, I cannot control the weather and IT WAS RAINING making it road more difficult than usual and the car you had rented did not have the power for our roads in Costa Rica, especially in wet weather as you were advised by car rental company. The road is steep but it is actually one of the best roads in our area...and hundreds of people travel it every day. I'm glad you were able to upgrade your car to continue your adventure in Costa Rica without further issues.

Colette s house is a gem. By its location it offers an incredible view on her tropical garden ( get up early-5.30am- and you ll see almost more birds and animals than in the big parcs), on the jungle, and finally on the Pacific Ocean ( one of the best sunset You can get). Pool and deck are perfect to chill, refresh, do yoga... Colette got all you can expect from a good host: smile, conversations, advices (check play Linda endless beach) and a very clean and "regular"comfy rooms. She has this plus of being an artist and the whole house is designed with her unique style. Like it or not, it helps feeling somewhere special. Vehicule is a must as you won't climb or walk down her hill, and that you are couple kilometers from the closest town Dominical. Family and couple paradise. Enjoy!

Colette's place was, without exaggeration, the highlight of our two-weeks' journey through Costa Rica and Panama, in terms of accomodation. Its beauty struck us right upon our arrival. We found ourselves in the middle of a paradise, a beautifully maintained garden, with a fantastic pool and a terrace overlooking the treetops and the ocean, comfortable and clean room with a kitchenette and a breathtaking dining/breakfast space upstairs. In fact we left the pool/terrace area only when we had to (to do some shopping or take the whale tour in Uvita), we couldn't have had enough of it! As I said to Colette when we arrived and as I see now again, the place looks in fact 100% better than on the photos (as of January 2017). Colette proved to be a very nice and professional host, great company and an outstanding cook! If you are considering this place and you plan to have a car available in Costa Rica (there's a steep road climbing up the hill to the house), go for it without hesitation. We totally recommend this one.

Colettes is the perfect place to stop as you continue exploring the coast. It is peaceful and secluded yet not far by car from sights, beaches, and restaurants. Colette is a wonderful cook. We had caught a tuna and asked her to cook part of it for dinner and she whipped up a culinary delight! Be sure to ask about bananas flambé! We enjoyed our stay with Colette and meeting her very much.

This is a beautiful place with a spectacular view and private swimming pool. Colette made us feel very much at home and cooked some wonderful meals. Colette is an artist, so the grounds and rooms are very creative and attractive. It was very peaceful there and because of that we spent two days where we didn't leave. Very relaxing. It only takes about 15 minutes to get down to some nice beaches.Lots of birdsong, butterflies, flowers. Highly recommend a stay here.
