If you plan vacation or business in NY - be my guest in this beautiful & original downtown loft in the historic district of TRIBECA. Comfortable for 4 (max 5) guests. The loft is gorgeous and the location almost unbeatable for a fun NY trip.

The Space

I rent our gorgeous bright loft in the heart of Tribeca - Downtown NY - it is right next to the TRIBECA Grand Hotel. The loft is a second story walk up with floor to ceiling windows. It is filled with designer furniture and original art (since I own a art Gallery). It has two bedrooms with queen beds. All sheets and blankets etc. we bought new. We do supply towels etc. The bathroom is not huge but big enough and has a bathtub - the most important thing is it is really clean. The living room is beautiful with huge floor to ceiling windows. You have one big table to have dinner parties and a working woodburning fireplace. The loft has wireless internet and fully equipped kitchen. Tribeca is the best location to experience NY it is close to all major Subways (1,2,3 line and the A,C,E line as well as the 4,5,6 line) and only steps from Soho. Still it is quite and next to the best restaurants and bars. Feel home in the most upscaled downtown NY neighborhood. We do love our loft and we are sure you will enjoy your time here. We do live 3 streets away so we are here for any questions during your stay in NY.

Guest Access

The loft will be your home. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a big living-dining area. There is TV and wireless Internet and it has 2 Aircondition window units.

Interaction with Guests

I am open for all questions and I am here to help.

The Neighborhood

In my opinion TRIBECA is the best place to stay in New York City. It has beautiful architecture - mainly old warehouses which are transformed into residential lofts. A lot of the best restaurants of New York are in Tribeca as well as great bars. Nearly every interesting place in Downtown can be reached by walking - Brooklyn Brdige, Freedom Tower, Soho etc..

Getting around

All major subways are close and it takes approx 45 Minutes with a cab from JFK or Newark.

  • It was difficult to connect with Arne to coordinate arrival but once we got that sorted everything was seamless. The loft was so comfortable and in a great location. We will definitely try and stay there again in the future.

  • Ein wirklich tolles, hippes loft - ein wahres NYC Erlebnis.
Mitten in tribeca, super location - absolut empfehlenswert!

  • Excellent experience with the host, who was amiable and very responsive. The apartment is spacious and the living room is filled with light. It is a typical downtown loft, a bit funky, with creaky, uneven floors, which I am used to. The shower has excellent pressure, a must, and the beds are quite comfortable. Going up and down the 36 steps helps keep you in shape during the stay, but can be rough when arriving and leaving with heavy luggage. All in all, a very positive experience.

  • The apartment is exactly as described and has plenty of space. Wonderful location and space to get that NYC loft vibe for your stay. The host couple was perfectly communicative and made check in and check out a very simple process. Would HIGHLY recommend.

  • We stayed at Arne's and Katie's with a party of 4 in May 14 and simply *loved* it. The place is funky, the beds super comfy and the location as such is fabulous. Close to the metro and nice neighbourhoods such as Soho and Greenwich, if you ever want to get out of Tribeca at all. ;-) Running route at Battery Park easy to reach. Wireless super fast and steady. Two minor things to be aware of: steep stairs for luggage drag up and one bathroom for four. It all worked out well and we would go back any time. In fact we hated to leave. Thanks for having us!

  • I had to find a place to put up my parents and aunt and uncle for my graduation. Arne was very quick to respond to my messages and requests, which was great. I wasn't entirely sure how my relatives were supposed to check in (it was my first time using airbnb, maybe it's just a custom I don't know about yet?) or check out, but, again, because Arne is so quick to respond, it wasn't an issue.

The apartment is on a third (or fourth?) floor walkup and is very spacious, which my relatives appreciated (being older, not quite having the tolerance for tiny spaces in teh city). The neighborhood's nice (Tribeca and all). Overall, it was a great experience.

  • We had a very nice teim in Arne's loft. The space was very open and airy and it was a very welcoming place to use as home base for our stay in NYC. The location, in TRIBECA, was perfect. Great location to get to Canal street, West Broadway, financial district etc.

  • Two couples, 40+ from Australia looking for an authentic NY experience. Amazing location, with great walking and subway access to down and uptown. Great restaurants everywhere around. The loft is just as expected, funky, interesting and true NY. Plenty of hot water, really comfortable beds, nice linen, towels and lots of room to keep your stuff so you are not tripping over it,. Neighbours above and below are really quiet, although if you are super sensitive you might not like that you can hear them walking on the boards. Didn't bother us. Beware, it's a tough lug up and down the stairs when you have big heavy suitcases and make sure you are clear about checking in/getting keys before you leave home. All in all, this was a truly special and memorable part of our trip.

  • Great area of NYC, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. I have always stayed in hotels in NYC so I wasn't prepared for a few things which could be associated with an old building particularly the fact that all but one electricity socket blew when in use and we had problems resetting.

As its also an old building the noise from the neighbour above was loud in the morning and I can usually sleep through anything (very creaky floorboards and water pipes) but if you start out early in NYC (pre 6:30am) then it shouldn't be a problem.

One thing we hadn't considered was what we would do with our luggage on the day we were leaving. Check out was12 and our flight home was in the evening. The nearest luggage store is uptown and expensive. Arne very kindly allowed us to leave our luggage until we left for the airport late afternoon.

About
I am German but at the same time a New Yorker after living more then 10 years here. I am married with Kathie and we have two small daughters - which keep us busy. I do own Pablo's Birthday Gallery (Gallery for Contemporary Art) in NYC which is in my opinion the most exciting city in the world.
