Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and fit my needs pretty well. I found Erin to be responsive and very helpful. Obviously the location is super convenient for anyone wanting to enjoy Venice, Santa Monica, and Marina del Rey. It's Venice and the studio is right behind the boardwalk so there are certain things that come with this part of LA that you have to be ok with, but I had no complaints. In terms of the inside accommodations, it's a studio and so space is limited of course, but I think a small chair might work and help to make it a bit more comfortable. All in all though, it was a pleasant place to be.
I was very impressed with how thorough the instructions were in checking in and getting to the apartment. It was exactly what it was promised to be. The bed can be a little bit too short if you're at or over 6'0" tall.
This place was just great! My stay was only for three days, but I was so comfortable, I would have liked to have stayed forever. Check in and check out instructions are foolproof... And Erin is very easy to comunicate with. I actually got the chance to meet her on my way out too, we talked for a few minutes about our dogs and the Chinese New Year. She's got great positive/helpfull energy...
The room was directly next to the beach and walking distance away from restaurants, bars, and cafés. It was clean, cute, and stocked with popcorn, gummy bears, coffee, and chocolate. The Wi-Fi was spotty at first, then entirely inoperable during the last 2 days of our 4-day stay; the Roku, which is hooked up to Wi-Fi, didn’t work for those days either. It’s difficult to get a good night’s sleep in the room, as it is located above an alleyway frequented by carousers and late-night dumpster divers—which is to be expected in Venice. We were forced to close our windows—with little success in eliminating the noise—but that left the room unventilated and stuffy, so we requested a fan from our host the first evening via the Airbnb website; she responded, assuring us that she’d bring one by the next day. Meanwhile, closing windows only dealt with a modicum of the noise, so we purchased earplugs—only to be awoken at the break of dawn by the sunlight that flooded through the virtually transparent “shades” on the windows. We waited to hear from our host regarding the fan, but, having received no word from her, we emailed once again via the site—to, this time, no response. So we texted her cell again later—and again received no response.
I understand the purpose of Venice—it’s a place, essentially, to party, not a peaceful getaway. So it is likely that we were mistaken in hoping to get a good night’s sleep. However, we would have appreciated it if our host had been more responsive and dependable
Erin was super helpful and responsive to communication. Though I didn't get to meet her in person it was really easy to get situated, and our correspondence was fun. The studio location is prime, comfortable and cute. We had a great time.
The apartment was cosy, really close to the beach and suited our needs as a basic studio.
Communication before and when we arrived was a little sparse so I'd recommend leaving a little extra time when contacting the host. Erin seems cool tho.

We spent many years in our Venice home, but now my brother Jason has taken over the main house with his roommate Mario. I still operate the studio for AirBnB from my new location.
!This house was built in the late 1930's and located on the boardwalk with a beach view . This has been a family home for over 40 yrs. This has a really neat look and charm to it. We decided to make this private studio available to our fellow Airbnb-ers because it is such a unique, fun little space.
Venice is a great place to just be yourself and relax or get crazy ;)!
( Some inquiries make me feel I have to state :
****This is our home we hope you will respect that and we welcome kind, honest, fellow AirBnB family members to stay here in our studio. If you are looking for a hotel feel, you won't find one here! Just pure privacy , comfort and necessities provided.
****No, There is no additional security or insurance for your belongings or yourself ...... simply because we hope there's a mutual trust in our AirBnB community and consider you family guest(s) -that we have not had the pleasure of meeting yet. AND yes, of course we as the home owners and host also have keys to the studio if you lock yourself out or for any emergencies.)
**It is just off the board walk and above an alley both ..(visible from studio). Venice IS afterall, # 1 mosted visited spot in Southern California compared to Disneyland. Located right in the center of it all.
**Sometimes after closing time at local bars ...there is an individual or group of happy or angry people walking home. Or a skateboard and bikes. This is VENICE and not a quiet deserted island or a resort.
Early Mornings and after sundown is generally quite. I remind everyone it is Venice , you must know we are known for an eclectic neighborhood sounds, people, everything :).
EVENTS IN TOWN:
* Venice Art Crawl :
Every third Thursday ..walking , bicycling , eating at gourmet food trucks, restaurants , music , drinking, great stores , art & crafts and fun. We sometimes participate (in a civilized manner ) by holding an art exhibit for the "art crawl" in our parking lot. 7:00pm- 10:30pm (yes you will still always have your parking spot). We also have a rotating urban muralist on our property wall approx every 6 months.
* Every FIRST Friday :
local Venice Abbot Kinney Blvd art walk.2Blocks away.
More walking , bicycling , eating at gourmet , restaurants, gourmet food trucks drinking , tons of fun!
FREE Parking: in addition to what is previously stated on my airbnb site ...there is enough room for an suv. Anyone who has an SUV can fit if you know how to drive one. Hee hee;). With that being said, there is 1 (city style ) uncovered parking spot right up front. - a tight parking space. Passenger might need to get out of vehicle first.
Sorry No pets allowed in studio rental.
I hope that helps. the rest is straight forward and located on house rules, house manual and amenities.
Thank you for your inquiry !
