The Biennale apartment is found in the Castello district, which is probably the least touristy area of the city. It is divided between the Arsenale, the largest naval complex in Europe in the medieval age, and the important monasteries in the north of the quarter. It was then modified in the late 18th century by Napoleon, who planned what are now the Bienniale Gardens and Via Garibaldi. In the last two centuries more land was drained at the eastern extremity of the district to form the now called Sant'Elena. Other attractions in Castello include the Scuola di San Marco, the Church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo, San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, San Giorgio dei Greci, San Zaccaria and Campo Santa Maria Formosa. This district is known for the many less busy but most interesting tourist sites.
The apartment is located at the beginning of the authentic Via Garibaldi and can be reached in 2 minutes from the Arsenale Vaporetto stop. You can find every sort of shop bar or restaurant in the vicinities as it is a well serviced residential area. The apartment is on the first floor where the long living room stretches from windows facing on the street
