Gorgeous, sensual zen space in the Warehouse District. PERFECT location for Mardi Gras, Jazzfest, or any other weekend in town. The space features exposed brick walls, huge windows, central air/heat, 2 bedrooms (including an awesome loft space upstairs), dining area. and fully-functional separate kitchen and bathroom. A nice person and a nice apartment. Suited our needs perfectly. The whole process was completely easy.
Apartment was fantastic, in a great location. Everything was easy and pleasant with Host. Enjoyed my time in New Orleans! I recommend this apartment to anyone!
Great place to stay! The apartment is charming and the location is great, just between the French Quarter and the Garden District. And Miss Bliss is very friendly, flexible and communicative. It was a real pleasure!
Great apartment! Located short walking distance to the convention center if you're in town for a conference and close to Bourbon St. Two thumbs up.
The apt was great. Clean and ready to go when I arrived. Fab was out of town, but she mailed me the keys before hand so I was able to check in no problem. Great location (especially for me as I had a wedding reception to attend right across the street at the CAC) with easy access to streetcars down to the French Quarter or Uptown.
This is my second stay in this lovely space and I was pleased to find it had been delightfully updated since my last visit.
First the location is prime for either business or pleasure. Two or more blocks from the convention center, four or more blocks from the Quarter and walking distance to all the best restaurants, museums and galleries..yet in the safest and quietest part of downtown New Orleans area.
The apartment itself is a large wide open space with exposed brick. Very zen and tastefully decorated w/ an open kitchen. There is a separate healing/meditation room that can certainly accommodate an air mattress should you you have additional guests and the loft bedroom upstairs is cozy and perfect for two.
The apartment has pretty much anything anyone would need.Clean towels, linens, hairdryer , iron etc...
Street parking can be again unless you don't mind feeding the meter every 2 hours but given its proximity to all New Orleans has to offer, there's really no need for a car...
Overall, taking price and convenience into consideration this is an amazing deal.
I have very mixed feelings as I’m writing this review. Although I never met her in person, Fab was a very gracious hostess. She was pleasant to talk with, easy to reach and willing to accommodate an additional person at the last minute at no additional charge. There were three of us visiting over a long weekend and she even left an extra set of keys to make things easy for us. The location was perfect, walking distance to the Garden District, French Quarter, Convention Center and the Superdome.
That said we were truly surprised by the condition of the apartment. The place does indeed have lots of character and all the decorations are exactly as they appear in the photos. However, as much as I regret to say this because Fab truly was a sweetheart, I feel some responsibility to let the next potential guest know how dirty it was in there. It was neat and orderly but, definitely not clean by any stretch of the imagination.
When we walked in, we were struck how filthy the carpets downstairs are (to be fair, the upstairs loft is absolutely spotless, but warm) and the stale odor. There was clear evidence of a pet although there wasn’t one actually present- Important to note for those who may have allergies. There was visible dirt in a number of places in the bathroom as well. The whole place could really use a good scrub down.
In terms of general maintenance- There are huge holes in the ceiling over the entryway. We happened to visit on a rainy weekend and when it rained the ceiling leaked on the living room futon pictured with the pillows as well as a number of other places. I could go on, but will stop at saying the landlord is REALLY getting away with something here.
As I said before, this was a very convenient option for us. I couldn’t have planned for a better location or a nicer person to have to interact with. Because it was a holiday weekend, price was a factor for this trip and we couldn’t beat it. But honestly, it is so hard to be comfortable in a place that isn't clean. Even at the low price I think I would prefer to spend a few extra bucks to split the cost of a hotel room. But for those who are comfortable with more relaxed standards, this may be an acceptable option.
This warehouse was lovely. In the perfect spot, the French quarter can be quite heavy going so it was great to be a small walk away from the hustle and bustle. Really close to trendy Magazine Street which has lots of boutiques for shopping and salons for nails! Also some fantastic restaurants, bars and cafes. The space was clean and had all the mod cons you could ask for. It was awesome to have a breakfast bar! The host was really helpful, friendly and prompt with her responses. We could not have asked for a better place. There were three of us staying and we all had enough living space. The double room on the mezzanine level was really big and very comfortable. Highly recommend it.
Great location and great loft! The thing I love most about airbnb is the privacy I get by renting out an entire apartment rather than a hotel room. The place itself is very loud to the outdoor traffic, but if you sleep in the loft upstairs, you will be fine. My boyfriend and I found ourselves sleeping on the extra mattress by the window, as noise doesn't really bother us and we liked the openness of the downstairs more than the loft. We would definitely stay there again if we return to NOLA soon.
Thanks, Miss Bliss!
fab is fab. the host is so easy to communicate with, very timely in responding, and super flexible. she let us come in late and leave late with no trouble. the apartment is in a very convenient part of town--close to lots of GREAT restaurants [cochon, root, mothers..], short walk to the st. charles street car, and 15 mins to the french quarter, jackson square, etc. the apartment has A/C and lots of space--but the stairs to the bedroom are seriously steep [we couldn't take suitcases up them!], and the place is pretty dimly lit. wireless is slow and no TV except for a dvd player upstairs [where it gets toasty]! none of that bothered us much since we were rarely there, though! i would stay there again, for the ease and location--and a lovely host!
