Great host and home! This was my first Airbnb experience and it couldn't have worked better. Mallorie was thorough from the beginning with info on checking in and what to expect about the house. She told me the Internet was going to be in and out but I never had a problem with it. I appreciated her openness. She was easy to get a hold of and always willing to help with questions about the house/hawaii. I would definitely stay with her again. As far as the home it's self, overall positive.
No comfortable furniture in the house but it's hawaii, you should be outside anyway.
Sheets are an odd material.
Located near a fire station/busy road
The kitchen is very nice with everything that is needed.
Beds are comfortable
The Lānai (patio) adds a lot to the house
House was spotless
Internet works very well
Located near downtown Honolulu
5 minute walk to a waterfall
Easy access from Pali highway
We would highly recommend! Great proximity to downtown Honolulu but not in downtown Honolulu. Buses abound so getting around is quite easy.
The best thing of all, is all that all three units in the house are rented. Mallorie, who is very nice and helpful stays in an attached unit in the back when she is there and typically that is rented too.
So with all three bedrooms rented, everyone is on equal footing which makes it more like communal living then staying in the extra bedroom of a single family home.
The house itself is spacious and the rooms are very private. Plenty of full bathrooms too. The neighborhood is safe and clean and makes you really feel like you living in Hawaii and not a tourist.
Mallorie is pretty selective on who she rents to so our experience was very positive and our house mates were very nice and respectful. We stayed at Mallorie's place for 5 weeks while relocating to Honolulu and we couldn't have found a better place or nicer roommates.
This was my first occasion to use Air Bnb and Mallorie was a wonderful host to work with. I am 70 years young and have a disability making travel a bit more difficult than the average person. Mallorie went out of her way to accomodate every one of my needs and she supplied so much background information my 6 week stay was indeed a joy.
I stayed in the Kalei room located on the 2nd story of this wonderful old home that has been tastefully updated and renovated. I had my own bathroom that also made my stay more comfortable since it was adjacent to the Kalei room. The bus stop is only two houses down the street making the need for a rental car unnecessary for me. I hadn't ridden a bus in nearly 50 years but after learning the ropes and getting a senior bus pass ($30 a year) I slowly learned what routes went where in the city and found that the bus drivers and the passengers were helpful in getting where I needed to go. Mallorie had thoughtfully provided her guests with maps and information on each bus route. When I arrived and opened the door to my room, I found fresh towels, the bed neatly made and a large closet with plenty of hangers. The room was locate on a corner of the house and large windows on each side so good cross ventilation kept the room cool during the day. The room also had a ceiling fan in the event there was no breeze. The guests are expected to keep their room and bathroom clean. Mallorie of course provides the cleaning supplies and a washer and dryer to do laundry.
Each guest provides for their own dietary needs and does their own cooking and shopping. The guests share the kitchen have their own cupboard space and storage in the refrigerator and freezer. It all works well and when I was there the guests occasionally cooked together or went out to eat at one of the local restaurants.
I enjoyed my stay immensely and would stay there again. I should mention that the house is centrally located and the grocery stores and restaurants are only about a mile away. She provides basic cable tv and her WiFi worked great. Aloha
This was an excellent place to stay. I am the director of an organization and needed to provide accommodations for some participants of a project I was working on and reached out to Mallorie. I rented the house for five weeks and each of the guests said they had a wonderful time and enjoyed meeting Mallorie and felt it was a clean and comfortable environment. I would highly recommend this to anyone! Thank you so much fro welcoming my guests and for providing such a wonderful experience for them.
I have stayed at Mallorie's house for an internship for three months and it was great! The house is very clean and the Kalei room was perfect for me - enough space and a comfortable bed. She has any supplies you need to make yourself at home.
The house itself is located in a beautiful and safe neighborhood with wonderful neighbors. There are few very close bus stops near the house and I could even
walk to Downtown Honolulu and the next grocery stores which was very convenient for me.
I just love this house and I'm looking forward to come back again!
Even though I didn't have a chance to meet Mallorie, she was always contactable when needed.
The location is about a forty minute bus ride to Waikiki beach, 20 minute walk from a local hiking trail, local eateries and away from the busy downtown area, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
In addition the neighbours were so friendly that they made my stay complete!
Very nice house in a gread Neighborhood. The room was fine and bed comfortable.

About the Host, Mallorie
Hi. I am a female business professional from N Calif (San Jose). I live in Califonia primarily but, also live and commute to Honolulu (where I was born and raised) throughout the year. I have traveled extensively for work and pleasure. Been to at least half of the 50 states. I have also done some overseas travel...China, Japan, Russia, Europe and Australia. I love new experiences and encounters with people. I appreciate different cultures and yet am facinated by how no matter where in the world we are from, we all have so much in common.
