I have really come to like my accommodations here very much. The room is quiet, the fan and breeze are nice, the nightly rain is nice, and I enjoy hearing the water running in the creek below. The bed and bath were ideal. My housemates were very pleasant and considerate, and there was plenty of room for everything. I will truly miss the whole experience. If I get to go back to Hawaii, but first choice will be to try and re-book a room in this home.

Mallorie's home is very welcoming. Her house is clean and looks exactly like the pictures on Airbnb. The neighborhood is quiet and the bus stop is conveniently across the street. Mallorie was vey helpful. She gave me recommendations on where to eat, what attractions to visit. I'm moving to Honolulu and she helped me look for apartments and told me where to buy furniture. I would highly recommend the Kalei Room and Mallorie.

This house is a great find and Mallorie a perfect host. I recently stayed in the Kalei Room for a full month while transitioning back to Hawaii after spending decades abroad. Mallorie is a font of information abut this very interesting, old, historic neighborhood. The Liliha area is the oldest community in Honolulu, and this neighborhood has lots of local flavor. It is also very safe, and Mallorie's house is secure. She is very selective about whom she rents to, and my housemates were always very nice. At times, I even had this big house all to myself. The No. 13 bus on nearby Liliha Street is handy, passing through downtown, past Ala Moana Center and on into Waikiki. Also nearby on Nuuanu Avenue, the No. 4 is useful too. And don't miss the Liliha Bakery, open 24 hours except closed on Mondays. (Don't forget to try the cocoa puffs. It's also an old-style diner with inexpensive meals.) I'll be returning to the neighborhood just for that bakery. This is a solid choice for people like me who are transitioning here as well as temporary residents on work assignments, being so close to downtown and several of the big medical centers. Mallorie can also give you lots of local advice, and she even leaves a neat little gift bag on your bed for you to find upon arrival. This was my first Airbnb experience, and it was so positive that if I ever need a temporary place to stay again, I won't hesitate to see if Mallorie has any rooms available.

I am so grateful that I found this room! The location, with its easy access to downtown, was perfect. Although I never met Mallorie, she went out of her way to make me feel at home in the house and in Honolulu. She was always available by phone and took the time to give me restaurant recommendations and tips on navigating the neighborhood. There are signs posted all around the house with helpful information that minimizes the need to contact Mallorie. If you are used to having a landlord on-site, the three hour time difference when Mallorie is in California may seem inconvenient, but it did not stop her from responding quickly whenever we needed to speak to her.

We stayed at Mallorie's house for two weeks. It was well located and easy to find. The house was nice and clean and everything that we needed was provided. Mallorie was very nice, she gave us a lot of information about the island and even though she was not on the island at the time being, she checked on us every once in a while to make sure we had everything that we needed. We overall had a wonderful stay and we recommand this place without hesitation.

Aloha! It was a wonderful stay at Mallorie's. My buddy and I had about a fortnight stay and we both liked the place a lot. Mallorie is an absolutey well organized host. Even though she was away while we were there, she constantly checked with us on any suggestions, enquiries etc. Hope I could come back and stay some other time in the future. Mahalo, Gi

Hi. I am a female business professional from N Calif (San Jose). I live in California primarily but, also live and commute frequently to Honolulu (where I was born and raised) throughout the year. I have traveled extensively for work and pleasure. Been to at least half of the 50 states. I have also done some overseas travel...Thailand, China, Japan, Korea, Russia, England, France, Italy, Scandinavia, and Australia. I love new experiences and encounters with people. Cultural nuances always fascinate me and I look for them wherever I go. Yet, it's finding those things we have in common that really bind us no matter where in the world we live...with much "Aloha" I am happy to open my Honolulu home (whether I am "on island" or elsewhere) to all intrepid travelers.
