  • Beautiful place with very comfortable room and deck. Loved staying here and would be happy to come back. Highly recommend a scooter since many popular places are more than a walk away. Hosts were great and we're easy to work with. Great communication throughout.

  • A beautiful room (email hidden) to stay. Communication with Vicki was excellent and she was extremely prompt with her responses.

I was greeted by Chris her son when I arrived and he was great giving me information when I needed it. The room was cleaned everyday and the staff was great giving me a lift down to the main steet when I needed a ride. The place is a away from the Main Street/centre but if you have a motorbike or don't mind a 20min walk then that's not an issue.

The family run restaurant next door was the great! I had dinner there almost every evening. Great food and excellent value.

I would highly recommend staying here!

  • We absolutely love this place and had a great time there. The room was beautiful and the stuff helpful. Great local restaurant is close by.
    Rent a scooter :-).

  • We spent 5 days at Taman Sari guest house and we had a great time! The room are very comfortable and the house is nicely located, though not too far from Ubud main street.
Nyoman took us at the airport and to different places to visit on our last day, he (email hidden) and it was very nice to talk with him about the island and Ubud region!

  • I had a lovely and peaceful 10 day stay at Taman Sari guesthouse. Vicki was very helpful and fast at communicating with me during the booking process and the pick up from the airport with Ricky went very smoothly. Although Vicki was not there during my stay, Ricky, her son Chris and the girls who keep the grounds and rooms spotless where very helpful, arranging bike hire for me and taking me to the supermarket to buy some small provisions. I also loved eating at the Warung next door, Secret Garden cafe just opposite the Botanic Gardens and my favourite, Abe Do Organic Warung, 10 minutes walk down the hill towards central Ubud. The village in which the guesthouse is located is a little way out of central Ubud, but it is an easy walk or cycle into town and it was wonderful to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the centre (though be warned that it is all uphill on the way back!).

  • Everything about my stay was perfect! The treetop view was incredible for sunrises and sunsets. My friends would come over and marvel at the sheer beauty of the apartment! The location is just enough out if town where u can hear the crickets at night but still walk to town. The staff is cute, lovable and ever so welcoming. I loved staying here.

  • My short stay at the Taman Sari house was lovely. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The accommodations were nice, an airy room with lots of windows, and its own private balcony. We had everything we needed, and the location was convenient by motorbike to the main road towards Ubud town center, and close to a nice yoga studio. I only met Vicki briefly, but she was very nice as well. Would definitely stay there again when in the Ubud area!

  • Taman Sari (email hidden). I stayed in the second floor room and it had everything I could possible want. It is about a half an hour walk out of town but it's a really lovely walk and it is also great to see another side of Ubud other than the bustle of the town. You can always hire a scooter while you're there if you don't like walking. I would recommended Taman Sari to people going to stay in Ubud especially if you plan to stay a little longer and settle in. Crispin

  • We haven't met Vicky, but she is easy to communicate with and very responsive by mail.

The place is pacefull and very well decorated, rooms are full equiped, we really had two good nigths here.

If you ask vicky, she will be happy to help you in your request. She organise the scooter hiring for us and it was great. She even propose to organise the pick up for our (email hidden) we were staying, but our precedent hostel was half the price for the same trip.

Our recommandation would be to have staff with a better english understanding, as it can be very difficult to ask for something if Vicky isn't in the place.

Response from Mr Nyoman Parta And Ms Vicki:

Thank you Melodie for taking the time to write a review. We are happy you found our place peaceful and comfortable. I feel I must mention that one of the problems of (email hidden) is the language barrier, please excuse our girls for their little bit of English. Some places that you stay are run by local Balinese only, so you could encounter this language problem anywhere in Bali. Most guests seem to have managed with our staff for the last 2 years so we have never seen it as problematic. For me, I only speak English but I feel I cannot come to foreign country and think that they will speak my language so I often find myself in a situation of needing patience and tolerance and we seem to get there in the end. My son Chris said he meet you, he would have been only too happy to assist you or you could have popped next door to see me, emailed, called me from the lobby phone, sms me and I would surely have liked the chance to help you. I am truly sorry it wasnt so straight forward for you. You also mentioned the cost of transport, you make it sound like we were trying to charge you too much, I find this very unkind as we only trying to help you. As you would have found pricing is a very negotiable thing in Bali. Our driver, drives for his livelihood, this is how he makes his living to feed his family. Some just do it for pocket money or as a hobby so the pricing can vary a lot and sometimes a small fare is offered as they hope they will be able to take to some places where they will make a commission. This is how things often work in Bali. I only tell you this so as you may understand our position, we try our very best and go out of our way to make sure we offer the best value to our guests and for the price of the rooms we feel offer our guests very good value for money. Our driver Nyoman is a Guide and Tour Driver of 35 years and his English is very good, you can actually have a conversation with him, he may have been able to show you some special places along the way. I am apologize what we offered was less than you were expecting. We wish you Happy Travels.
