Melissa is a very warm and kind person. She made us feel well at home.
The room was exactly as advertised. It was clean, as was the bathroom.
We'd like to thank Melissa, for a pleasant stay during SXSW.

I stayed in Austin for 12 days including SXSW Edu and Interactive. For the first six days I booked to stay at Melissa's place because of her amazing reviews and because her place is affordable and close to Downtown Austin.
This was an excellent decision partly because the house is comfortable and peaceful and mostly because Mellisa is such a welcoming and thoughtful host and a colleague in the world of educational technology. I am on quite a radical vegan diet so I really appreciated the ride to Wholefoods Market to grab some supplies and the quick tour of Downtown Austin the evening I arrived. Thanks to Melissa for making some time for mostly profound (and often very funny) conversation despite her crazy busy schedule. If I lived in Austin I would want her right in the middle of my circle of friends.
Melissa was incredibly accommodating and flexible with her time and space since we were unsure of my parents schedule due to hurricane Sandy. Her place was comfortable, clean and in a great area. I highly recommend her place to stay the next time you are in Austin.
Melissa! Melissa! Melissa! From where do I start?. Melissa the good host, or Melissa the amazing friend!. She is respectful, sociable and at all a great roommate. She was always helpful and gave us (my friends and I) advices for activities. You can have good conversations with Melissa and she is just a great person. All in all, I´ve always felt welcome and had an incomparable stay. Her pets/my friends Iko and Greta are absolutely adorable and it was great to have them around :) I am very glad, that we have decided to stay there. The place is beautiful and everything was clean and has been invited to feel at home (I truly felt like home). The home is located in central Austin and it is a few minutes drive to Downtown and the UT campus area! An own car is recommended. The house is in a very peaceful and lovely neighborhood. Honestly, words can't describe my appreciation!
Melissa, Iko, and Greta... Thank you! We miss you already and we hope that you visit us in Dallas! :)
With Love ~ Mohammad.
Meeting Melissa was the best experience! She was always willing to help me out, even with an occasional ride since I didn't have a car. I had my own room and bathroom as well as access to the stove which really helped in keeping down my costs while in Austin. I couldn't have asked for a better host. She helped me not miss home as much due to her warmth and kindness. I am so happy to have met her!
Melissa is quite possibly the nicest person I have ever met! She was warm and welcoming and made us feel at home. Everything was nice, clean, and spacious and Melissa was very helpful in recommending great things to do around town! We plan to stay with her again when we visit because we had the best airbnb experience ever!
Melissa was a great hostess. Made my brother & me feel right at home and welcome. I can really say she has become a friend. Her little place was simple, quaint and homey with a nice little bath for our private use (located opposite side of house). The beds were surprisingly comfortable. Her having two separate beds in one room was a need of ours. Distance to Circuit of the Americas was a little far (40 min.) but to the city of Austin was real close and convienent. The unique thing was the neighborhood peacocks. Mellissa can tell yout thier story. Be sure to take some earplugs if you are a light sleeper as the peacocks will make their calls in the night. Overall we had a great experience and will stay again for future racing. Thx Melissa!
The room was really nice, and I had full use of the kitchen, dining area, and laundry. Melissa was a great host--very attentive, supporting, and always welcoming.
Melissa and her family were extremely kind and inviting. The room was comfortable and clean and the rest of the house was well-kept. We were invited to "make ourselves at home" and knew it was not lip service.
The dogs in the house are friendly and quiet. I was happy to have them around missing my own dog at home. No issues whatsoever.
Buses to and from were easy to get to. Short taxi ride out of downtown as well.
Melissa offered advice on local restaurants and tips on getting around. We were so busy with SXSW we didn't get a chance to spend enough time with our hosts but every moment we interacted was delightful. If I come back to Austin and need a place to stay I would definitely get in touch with Melissa again.
