This property, Naomi's Garden in Miami, is a very funky and artsy enclosed garden. Within its walls there are tropical trees and plants, waterfalls, a firepit, a large wooden tent, outdoor kitchen and bathrooms, as well as private rooms.
My family lived on this property in the early 80's. I was actually born here. Now, it has been converted into a very chill hangout spot in Miami. The place is an oasis in a low-income neighborhood. There are often people lounging and hanging out in the Garden during the day. On some nights, particularly the weekends, there are live music events on-site. We offer a very authentic, active, off the beaten path, real Miami experience.
If you like live music, parties, and meeting new interesting friendly people, then this property is for you.
We have a restaurant, Naomi's Meals to Go, at the front of the property. It serves delicious, authentic and very affordable Haitian food.
There are a number of sleeping options available. This listing is for is a private bedroom which sleeps 2-3 people with a private bathroom ensuite. If you have a large group, additional people can sleep in the large outdoor tent or in a number of different outdoor settings. The private room was renovated in February 2012 and is very cozy and comfortable! The pictures shown reflect the renovations.
The drive to South Beach, the airport, and downtown Miami are all approximately 10 minutes. The property is located 3 blocks from I-95, the main highway in the Miami area. Free parking is available on street. Public transportation options are also available and although I am a fan of public transportation, automobiles are a more practical option in this area. On public transit, these are the approximate times: Miami Beach 45-60 minutes, MIA airport 50 minutes, Downtown Miami 30 minutes.
We would be very happy to welcome you at the Garden!
I was greeted by another person and not by the host indicated in Airbnb and I did not feel comfortable in the place. Moreover had leaks inside the room, one night I woke up with a wet bed because of leaks, I don´t indicate any of my friends to stay in this place.
The Funky Garden was cool but way too much bass for me. I can sleep through anything but my cloths were vibrating from the bass from the speaker array that is against the bathroom wall when I was in bed. I like many kinds of music but when you just hear the BASS and it drowns out everything else it is too much. Everyone was cool and the food at the restaurant was good. I didn't get to meet Noam, but everybody was friendly.
I would not recommend staying there until they move the speakers from the wall.
Also parking was on street which was ok but the description says free parking ON PREMISE. I asked twice and was directed to the street. Lots of street parking but not on premise as I understand it.
Cool jaminca families who are very friendly and helpful, definitely brought us very different experience in Miami. If you are tired enough, the music is not a problem to provent you from sleeping.
Nice place to stay with huge room very clean and only 50m from Bus to Downtown Miami. Perfect place if you want a cheap bed and enjoy the life in Miami.
Felt like I was in Jamaica. Everyone I met there was really nice and made me feel welcome. I can definitely recommend it for someone that likes reggae and is looking for an affordable place to stay.
Clean room. Comfy bed. Gracia was an amazing host. Definitely returning!
A cool place to chill, nice room with very fast internet. Bathroom was clean, all amenities were in place and the a/c blew cold. It can be a bit loud at night sometimes, but you feel da vibe! Thanks for everything Naomi. Gracia was a gracious host, and I learned a lot about music! Send him my love, I didn't get to say goodbye.
Funky is a good way to describe the place! Everybody there is is really friendly! But if you expect a quiet place to stay avoid this one. Be ready to have extremely loud music going on very late on weekend nights!
This place is great for that price! very friendly people! i wish there was a place like this in new york :)
Funky Garden is a beautiful place with more than nice people and you maybe have the best food around the corner. If you get yourself into it you will have a great experience. One day Noam dropped by and asked if everything was okay. He is a very friendly person who cares about the well-being of his guests.
