This property, Naomi's Garden in Miami, is a very funky and artsy enclosed garden. Within its walls there are tropical trees and plants, waterfalls, a firepit, a large wooden tent, outdoor kitchen and bathrooms, as well as private rooms.
My family lived on this property in the early 80's. I was actually born here. Now, it has been converted into a very chill hangout spot in Miami. The place is an oasis in a low-income neighborhood. There are often people lounging and hanging out in the Garden during the day. On some nights, particularly the weekends, there are live music events on-site. We offer a very authentic, active, off the beaten path, real Miami experience.
If you like live music, parties, and meeting new interesting friendly people, then this property is for you.
We have a restaurant, Naomi's Meals to Go, at the front of the property. It serves delicious, authentic and very affordable Haitian food.
There are a number of sleeping options available. This listing is for is a private bedroom which sleeps 2-3 people with a private bathroom ensuite. If you have a large group, additional people can sleep in the large outdoor tent or in a number of different outdoor settings. The private room was renovated in February 2012 and is very cozy and comfortable! The pictures shown reflect the renovations.
The drive to South Beach, the airport, and downtown Miami are all approximately 10 minutes. The property is located 3 blocks from I-95, the main highway in the Miami area. Free parking is available on street. Public transportation options are also available and although I am a fan of public transportation, automobiles are a more practical option in this area. On public transit, these are the approximate times: Miami Beach 45-60 minutes, MIA airport 50 minutes, Downtown Miami 30 minutes.
We would be very happy to welcome you at the Garden!
Smoking is not allowed in any indoor area, however is ok in the outdoor areas. "Hightower" is responsible for the kitchen. Please coordinate with him about its use. The Garden is free for you to use as well as the bedroom.
Pets are not allowed without specifically approval.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This is a unique place and suitable for someone who likes off the beaten path experiences. As many other reviews say it is a party atmosphere with loud music all the time so if that's not your thing don't stay here! Although the area directly around is not great, it is convenient to get to most places you wish to visit in the city. People were friendly and welcoming and the room was as described. Shower was hot and wonderful. I was a solo female traveller and it was kind of an intense situation walking into this established community of locals who hang out here, but as I said everyone was welcoming and I found no issues.
My girlfriend and I had a pleasant 5 days stay here, and had the pleasure of experiencing Gracia's warm hospitality throughout our stay. He showed us around not only the place, but also the neighbourhood.
The room is in this space where people commute to hear Jamaican/rap music play on stage at night. It is next to the mini stage so the bass literally vibrates the room walls. If you're a light sleeper you may have trouble with that but it was no trouble for us as we sleep deeply from being tired from traveling. The room is dimly lit and cosy, not the best of conditions, but the bed is comfortable.
This place is like a Narnia in the Little Haiti neighbourhood. We were really amazed by the chill culture of this place. We tried the Haitian food at the takeaway cafe and even the little food place inside the space. Experience cheap Haitian food at cheap prices! We were fortunate enough to experience one of the tenant's birthday bash which was thrown there. Many people were invited and people party to rap music and beer and bouncy castles. We returned at 4am and the party was still ongoing. The party never stops so this place is for you if you're a chill, party person.
Many people told us that it is not that safe to be out at night but we Uber/Lyft at night so it was not a problem for us.
Very cheap for a great experience!
All in all the place was cosy, funky with friendly artistic people, if you want to experience another side of Miami other than its beaches.
This was a really nice place to stay.
Gracias greeted me at the door, he showed me around and made me feel very welcome. I like reggae music, so I enjoyed the atmosphere.

I love to travel, meet people, and really explore places. I was born and raised in Miami and have traveled around most of America and to many other countries.
