This is a tremendous and lovely place to stay. It is a beautifully-designed, contemporary renovation of a former machine shop, and retains a number of smart architectural references to it's industrial roots. The space is tranquil, warm, and much larger than the photographs indicate. The living area is filled with daylight from numerous skylights, the kitchen is top notch, and the bathroom has an oversized shower and deep soaking tub. I really enjoyed the eclectic furnishings and art throughout. Kelly, a charming and discrete host, directed me to several very nice restaurants in the area. All-in-all, I was very pleased with my experience and would love to return on my next trip to the city.
Beautiful apartment in a great area. Really feels like an oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of New York. The apartment really is as big as it looks in the photos - it's huge. And the surrounding area has some great bars and places to eat, while being just 15-20 mins from Manhattan. Overall, the perfect place to spend a week in New York
Its an unreal beautiful space and enjoyed it a lot. We didnt enjoy everything else though. It was the worst experience on AirBnB I have ever had.
First it started with the neighbor ( who took care of that place) as she told us that the AirCondition is connected to her flat and every time we took the AC slightly below 78 she was basically immediately either writing me an email or ringing at the door. This wasnt acceptable for us specially we had some really hot and humid days in New York.
Second I already got on friday an email from her if we can check out on monday 8:45am because she has to go to work.I mean we couldnt move in until evening....I didnt answer immediately and got a reminder a day after. Ah yeah, she gave us a note that we closed the door to our apartment too loud...
So than the big day came - sunday. We invited one of our chefs and a few friends for a quiet brunch. Everytime we took the AC down the neighbor was already ringing, than the host husband was complaining that something was burned (happens sometimes when you cook), than we opened the door for a few mins to get air into it (since we couldnt really switch on the AC), got immediately trouble with that and as my other friend from germany arrived it and no one knew what was going on...her husband threatened us. As I arrived I introduced my self and apologized for that....he wanted my friend out and wanted to come that night and check all our rooms. Im glad that he didnt...he would have regret that.
Kelly is a wonderful host and the condo is really amazing. It is highly recommended. You have 2 metrostations nearly to the condo with connections to different points in Manhattan but also a lot of Restaurants and Cafés around the corner.
All in all it was great.
Kell's apartment was one of the highlights of our NYC trip. It was everything you can imagine a great Brooklyn artsy industrial loft would be. The welcome bu Tatiana was very warm and she gave us some very useful advice on the surrounding interesting places. The metro and the cool streets that are Smith and 5th allowed us to make some great finds like Smith Canteen and Seersucker. Lucali was also nice although the wait and the poor service made us pay for the great pizza we had there. Augustus' room was very cool and you could definitely "feel the love" in this apartment.
We really enjoyed our stay at Kellys amazing condo in brooklyn! The space was more than we needed (we were a party of three), everything was perfectly clean and the spirit of art and design were everywhere. The place is quite and save, nice neighbourhood with shops, restaurants and close to two subway stops.
Instead of Kelly, we got a very nice and warm welcome from Tatiana. She’s Kelly’s neighbour and was around for questions may we had. Thanks for this great place to stay there!
Place is great! It sleeps five but then the bathroom (one shower plus toilet) gets a bit (website hidden) is very friendly and accommodating! Good location.
