We never met the host, but the man who was available on site was great. He was friendly and helpful. However there is nothing else I would recommend about this place. The pool and landscape were dirty and not being maintain. The bungalow had broken shower doors and there were two single beds for a married couple.
Plus its really in the middle of nowhere, the closest attractive is a large shopping mall.
The place was so depressing we left after one night and couldn't get a refund.
we really like the the tree house! it is located around 10-15 min drive from nimmanhaemin road/ city center, in a quiet neighborhood with some private houses surrounded. for people who look for something simple, who like to stay in treehouse-typed lush and quiet place, and also be able to explore the city conveniently - this is a great choice. this place has a big garden, and the lounge/club house area were nicely built with decent design aesthetics. the room is clean and nice, with a small balcony. it's falling asleep to the raucous sounds of crickets, tree frogs, and waking up to birdsong and the smell of trees.
note to travellers - as this place is quite hidden outside of city, taxi driver usually would not be able to find it. if you don't have a GPS map in hand, get the host on the phone to talk to the driver will work. we rent a scooter on the second day and it's actually pretty easy to find our way home.
Comptez minimum 400 bahts.
10 stars for the treehouse
10 stars for the lovely host
And 10 stars for the neighborhood
We just loved it and can recommend it with 100%
Its a very nice and serene place but small and at quite a distance from the city. The room was spacious and clean but the bathroom is extremely small. Given that the bathroom is somewhat open, it got cold while taking a shower (in Jan).To get around you need your own transport. There are very limited options for food nearby. The b'fast is overpriced for what you get. The owner/manager is quite helpful:she got her Gardner helper to take me to the city to rent a bike. It makes sense to stay here if you are a party of 2-4 people and have your own transport.
What a great place! We stayed in the treehouse for a week (me, my husband and my 3-year-old son) and we just loved it. The whole place is clean and well mantained and the garden is enchanting! People can enjoy their breakfast in the morning (a cereal-toast-milk breakfast is served for 100 Baht, which is a good deal as breakfast at coffee shops/restaurants in town cost much more). The water in the bathroom is just a bit warm (not really hot), but that's good enough as in Thailand it's hot all year around (we were there in January so during the cool season and we were ok with that). If you have a driving license go and rent a motorbike (we did it), it will save money and time. Taxis and tuk-tuk are not on the way but Miss Duangporn can help with that. Gym, wi-fi, yoga space and info point are available. Want to escape the city but still not be too far from it? Are you a traveler more than a tourist? This is the right place.
I was really pleased with this place. The space itself was somewhat small, but my travelling companion and I had no complaints. It was unseasonably cold (record lows!) when we were there, so the outdoor shower went from a positive to a negative. But given the regular climate in Chiang Mai it's pretty great to take a private shower outdoors as I was able to on my last day! If you're here during the warm months, it's a huge plus.
We were walking distance to a pickup point for the farm cooking class, and closely positioned to the tiger farm. Those were the highlights of CM for me. If you crave to be closer to downtown that's a different choice, but it's really only a 10-minute tuk tuk ride (about $5 US) and I liked the restaurants and massage parlors that were walking distance to us.
It may be worthwhile to spend 1-2 nights here, and another 1-2 nights in downtown, so you get the best of both worlds. But if you stay outside of downtown, I would definitely recommend!
Fantastic villa and very nice host.
the tree house as beauty as the picture and surround by the nature ,it was my first time visit Chiang Mai so I didnt know how far from the old city (The taxi rate "not tuk tuk or the red one for share " ) around $150 THB to the old city and around 15mins, but if you dont want spend money on taxi or dont know how to ride scooter then here may not your choice ,as here not like a hotel so no receptionist ; no restaurant inside it means no food you can order here ! if you want breakfast that you have to tell the gardener the day before and the breakfast is really basic , but sometime he works out so you may not able to reach him ,also he barely speak English so even though he wants to help that he couldnt but he is really nice and friendly guy !
so for my experienced that suggest you buy fruit for breakfast, then you can relax in the morning and go out for lunch and walking around the city .
You can do self-practice yoga and gym here as they provide the yoga mat and room , but not suggest ask them to arrange the teacher come over ,as more fun go to the yoga studio in town as there have many good studios like blue garden ; wild rose and yoga tree ... As here quite remote so not many taxi driver know the direction ,you must print the map and their number just in case they cannot find .
The treehouse was interesting. And the owner was very friendly and nice. Several points:
1.Great view and very natural environments. You can heard bugs a lot in the evening.
2.The room was in a great village. The citizens there was very nice.
3.There were many great local restaurants in the village which had delicious foods in it.
1.A bit far away from the City center. If you leave here, do rent a motobike. The taxi in the Airport didn't want to go here, and tuk-tuk in the city would ask high price to drive your here from downtown.
2.Ants. A bit lot ants.
3.The breakfast would cost you 100 Baht / person. I don't think it was cost-effective.
