We had a great time in this huge house! The location is perfect, it´s relatively secluded, but still walking distance (a few hundred meters) to the village with a couple of cafés, bars, butchers, grocery stores and a couple of restaurants.
It´s also perfectly located on a bigger scale, to go visit a ton of different villages, towns, larger cities and other sites. Famous towns like Citta Della Pieve, Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Castiglione Del Lago etc. are only 45-90 minutes away on smaller scenic roads. Bigger cities like Orvieto is only 20 minutes away and Siena & Florence are about 60 and 90 minutes away via the A1 highway (which is a 10 minute drive from the house). For bathing Lake Bolsena is only an hour away.
The house itself is very convenient, again huge (four bedrooms), it has a great front patio with exceptional view, the pictures doesn´t really do the view justice. The house is surrounded by lots of olive trees, other fruit trees and a vegetable garden. It´s easy to take walks around in the hills (pretty steep at times though) starting from the house and you are rewarded with one amazing view after the other.
The only thing that may need a bit of clearance in the description is that the pool is not on the grounds of this house, but only about 50 meters away across a small gravelroad (with basically no traffic) on the grounds of the owners house. We used the pool several times though and never felt we intruded or didn´t even notice the owners were at home even though they were.
Laura was a great host making sure everything was in order and worked for us.
Would definitely recommend this house!

About the Host, Laura
I'm from the green heart of Italy, Umbria, from a place at the boarder with Tuscany. I've been traveling quiet a lot before coming back home, though. I've been in London for studying, at the Imperial College of London, and then I worked for several years as a science journalist. I travelled extensively in Africa (Eritrea), and I also lived in Istanbul, Turkey, for a while. Now, I have the chance to live in the most beautiful countryside of the world (!) and I really enjoy this. This doesn't mean I don't miss London and its vibrant atmosphere: its multi-etnicity, Its pubs, theaters, exhibitions, the Strand, the East end, and my Bikram studio in Old Street! I still travel a lot due to my job, always chasing an interesting story that needs to be told. I love it!
I like to consider this beautiful place in Umbria as my safe harbor, a place where to grow my own food, enjoy my pets and the silence of the countryside and to offer the same sense of peace and calm to my guests. This, before leaving for a new place to explore.
