*The Room Does Not Come With A Private (email hidden)ere is a Shared Full Bath next to the room as well as a 1/2 Bathroom downstairs. And don't miss the Outdoor Garden Shower!

*The water pressure in the second floor bathroom can be a little low during the peak morning hours..Water pressure is fine downstairs and in the outdoor shower..We are currently in the process of installing a water storage tank and pump to completely remedy this situation

*There is NO A/C in the house..Rooms are equipped with fans..

*There are sometimes ants, frogs,or other insects in the house..We do our best to keep them controlled. This is a semi-rural area and nature surrounds us.

* And lastly we live in front of a mango packaging plant that is ONLY active for about two months out of the year..Mid February- Mid April...For us it not noisy at all, but since we had one guest comment on it, we decided to post it..The rest of the year is very quiet and peaceful as we live at a cul-de-sac...

  • My boyfriend and I stayed with Jorge on our last night of our trip in Costa Rica before an early morning flight from Liberia. It is a great option when you're arriving or leaving as it's very close to the airport. The house is lovely, very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the porch and chair hammock the evening we were there. Jorge was a great host, offering us frozen water bottles when we arrived and glasses of fresh pineapple juice after we returned from a day trip to Volcan Tenorio,

  • Jorge was a great host, he was so kindly and collected us from the Airport and took us to an nice local restaurant. That is what you need after an 20 hr flight to come down and enjoy the tropical side of life.
PURA VIDA !!! Mucho Gusto !!!

  • We enjoyed Jorge’s company, who had recommendations for local spots in town to check out. He has an interesting outlook on life, and certainly welcomed us into his home. The bed was firm, as you might expect in a local home, and the location is down a dirt road, in a quiet neighborhood. This is a beautiful place Jorge designed and built, with some finishing touches in the works, but a great little find for sure.

  • Jorge was An amazing host! He knows so much of Costa Rica & the places to Visit. He sent me to a little beach where almost no tourists were, hidden waterfalls etc. I really enjoyed my stay there.
Breakfast is delicious & his place the best you can stay!

  • This home and room rental was truly lovely; clean and bright. Jorge (pronounced Hor-Hay) was a great host. He went out of his way to ensure I was comfortable and had a good experience. Although I am an avid walker, the 3.5km to town was not ideal, since half the route, along the highway, was under construction and very dusty with trucks.

I would recommend a 4-wheel drive car rental to those staying here. That also helps you be independent when wanting to tour various sight-seeing areas. I thought buses would be travelling to these sights, but the rough dirt roads do not allow for this. Jorge does make a good tour guide though, if you have the funds for this.

Across the street was the mango plantation and indeed there seem to be a constant humming from over there, as it was the season, but nothing the humming of the standing floor fan did not cover up.

The only issue was the lack of water pressure during the work day. At times there wasn't any at all, so you could only shower in the late afternoon/early evening in the outside shower, with one temperature (coolish). But I got used to overlooking the trees through the top of the clean shower stall. Jorge is in the middle of constructing a water tank addition to fix this situation.

    Thank you, Jorge.

  • We had a great experience staying with Jorge in Liberia. It was very reassuring to be picked up at the airport in a foreign land where we didn't speak the language and had been traveling for 16 hours. He was waiting for us as promised and took us back to his home where he had dinner waiting. We had prearranged for him to prepare a meal and he accomadated us with our gluten free vegatarian diet without any problem. Food was delicious and made with care.

Jorge's home is clean and comfortable. He is very knowledgable about green building and plants and we enjoyed lively conversation on many topics. The bed was comfortable and Jorge had a fan for the bedside which kept us cool and created white noise so that the mango plant couldn't be heard. We had two great nights of rest which we really needed to decrompress from our work lives. We were on our way to a week long retreat and it was fantastic to arrive at the retreat already in the pura vida energy.

We took a tour with Jorge of the national park, waterfall and hotsrpings. Loved it! So easy to be driven around by a local and not have to worry about one thing. Jorge brought snacks, water, and bought us fresh coconut juice on the way. He is a gracious and thoughtful guide.

There are some plumbing issues at the house with pressure and hot water that you can ask Jorge about before booking if it concerns you. He is working on these issues and they may be fixed by now. Cold water in Costa Rica is a lot warmer than cold water in Colorado! If you like to travel in luxury this may not be for you. If you want a dependable host in a relaxing, peaceful setting, we highly recommend Beautiful Garden Sanctuary.

  • I was in Costa Rica for dental appointments in Liberia and Jorge's place was very convenient being only a few minutes away. I enjoyed my stay and Jorge and his cooking. The room was clean and as advertised with no A/C. Since I am used to not having A/C this wasn't a problem for me, especially since there was a fan provided however I can see that the lack of A/C might be an issue for some. Just keep that in mind and the fact that CR can be pretty toasty!
The water pressure was as advertised and not very strong in the upstairs bathroom which I worked around by showering in the evening when there was more pressure.
I would stay here again. Jorge was a good host and very accommodating!

  • Wow! What an experience. Jorge couldn't have been a more gracious and compelling host. If you have the privilege of hearing some of his story, it makes what could be just another stay over into a thought provoking adventure. Despite the warning on is page about the mango packing plant across the street, I wasn't bothered at all. Far from it since I got to partake in some of the copious amounts of mangoes, mango juice though I missed the mango pie. I would definitely stay there again!

  • We booked Jorge's place for a quick overnight stay after arriving at the Liberia airport, before traveling onward to our destination. Though we chose it for its location near the airport, our time at Jorge's proved to be an enjoyable experience and a fond memory of our trip in itself!

The room was very comfortable, and his little property was a restful spot for our first night in Costa Rica: beautiful home, a rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of mountains and a farm, birds singing, hammocks to rest in. He made us mango smoothies and a fantastic Costa Rican breakfast with fresh ingredients - delicious! He was available for questions, and also gave us helpful information and recommendations for our upcoming travels.

    Thank-you so much, Jorge!
