Check In
  • I stayed at Baxter's while in town for a conference being held downtown. Baxter was super accommodating of my various travel needs/issues and gave me a warm welcome when I arrived. The house itself is in a great location - close to South Congress, supermarkets, coffee, etc. The house also has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including, my favorite, a record player. It was so nice to walk back to the house from my conference and decompress by cooking dinner and listening to records. The bed was extremely comfortable, too! I slept like a rock when I was here - better than at home! I had the opportunity to talk with Baxter in person a few times during my stay and she's super cool, funny, and helpful. I would totally recommend her house if you're in the area.

  • Baxter's place was great! As far as the house goes, it was clean, well-kept, had a real retro-hip feel to it. Loved her record player and all the different varieties of music she had. Bed was comfortable, shower was soothing (loved the bathroom). Kitchen was fully stocked but I didn't use it. The location was great! Located in SoFi area, a short walk from a lot of cool retaurants and food trucks and a few blocks away from all the fun and food on South Congress (definitely walkable). The host was very helpful and kind. Went out of her way to show me where the iron was when I needed it. Overall, an awesome Airbnb experience!

  • Great house. Very cute with large backyard. Easy walk to food trucks and 2 blocks to the #10 bus that will have you downtown in a few minutes. Baxter was very helpful pointing out places to see in Austin.

  • I had a great time visiting Austin, and really appreciated Baxter's quiet cottage experience. She was very prompt in answering all my questions, letting me know where to find towels and soap. The key exchange was a breeze, and I would definitely visit again!

  • Had an aweome time at Zilker cottage!

Everything worked out perfectly, Baxter was there to greet me and show me around the place upon arrival and was so helpful with tips / things to do in the area as well.

Communication with Baxer was easy and she was always responsive.

The place itself is great, so much character and interesting intruments / things around the house to look and play with.

Overall, had a great time and would heartily reccomend to this place to anyone!

  • What a fun experience at the strawberry cottage! It was perfect for staying at while visiting friends in the area. My favorite part was sitting on the porch in the early morning and in the evening. Many thanks, Baxter and Derek!

  • Really enjoyed my stay in March at Baxter's rental in Austin. Baxter is an attentive, respectful, and lovely host. The place is near enough to downtown to enjoy what that area has to offer, while providing a nice escape from its craziness (stayed during the SXSW Festival). Her home is cozy and quirky in the most welcoming ways. Would definitely stay again upon my next visit.

  • Baxter was very sweet and accommodating. She met with me for the check in and showed me around. It was a quiet cozy place to stay. Huge backyard. Close to everything in the SOCO area. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again anytime! Highly recommended.

  • Perfect spot for our needs - Nice two bedroom, clean bathroom w rainshower, nice big kitchen, empty fridge for use, cute front porch, good natural light. All in all, a great spot in Austin! And Baxter was a total sweetheart of a host.

  • Great location near Congress St., cute little cottage with cool decor, everything was very clean, beds were comfortable. The guest bedroom and main bedroom share a door, which might be a problem for some people but was fine for us. We didn't get to meet Baxter, but she was really nice and attentive over the phone and she left us a nice welcome note and even had oatmeal there for our breakfast.
