  • Juan Carlos was very attentive and easy to get a hold of, which made checking in and out a breeze. The place was in a very good location and was kept nice and clean.

  • This was a good place for my boyfriend and I to stay while we were in town for a wedding. We were busy with family and exploring Austin and didn't spend much time in the apartment which was good because we didn't want to spend much time there -- I'm not skittish by any means, but the exterior and interior of the building are shabby at best and scary at worst. The apartment itself is quite sparse feeling and the walls are terribly thin, we heard people in the hallways yelling late at night and yappy dogs at all hours. JuanCarlos provides earplugs, so there's that. JuanCarlos was okay to communicate with, very quick to respond to a few questions I had, but we also experienced some miscommunication around a few things that left me feeling a little stressed and confused. In the end he was responsive to our needs and we had a great weekend. If you're looking simply for a launching pad in Austin, a place to dump your stuff and rest your head, this is a great spot because of its perfect central location, affordability, comfortable bed, basic accommodations, and bicycles. If you're looking for a more home-y spot, a warm and comfortable place to relax in a nice Austin neighborhood, I'd look somewhere else.

  • I had a nice time at this apartment. The space was clean and comfortable and is in a great area for getting all around Austin.

  • It's a pretty convenient place to stay. I was at meeting at UT and it was only a 3 minute walk. There is parking and a reasonably quick WiFi. The bikes were in good shape. It's on the second floor so there's a reasonable view overlooking San Antonio street. The building is a little shabby, but the apartment is nice. It's a little spartan but has a comfortable bed. The shower is pretty good with good flow and plenty of hot water. I didn't use the kitchen much but it seemed equipped. Neither the bathroom or the kitchen have been updated in several decades so the coverings are a little dated.

The people in the building were pretty friendly.

In summary, it's not the Ritz but has everything you need.

Carlos responded pretty quickly to my texts.

  • Juan Carlos was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. The space was very nice inside and I loved the decor! The building and street were a little noisy, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Location is within walking distance of downtown and UT, which is fantastic.

  • Great open space with a second story view, nice little kitchen equipped with anything you'd need. Really close to downtown and the UT Austin strip, to which you can easily bike to with the two great bikes provided for free(with locks and helmets). We had a great time here and at a good price!

  • Great location, clean, and just what we needed for a weekend in Austin, while not spending much time at the apartment. Close to UT campus and a stones throw from a couple of cool bars. I recommend.

  • The apartment was clean and very practical, and really close to the center, which is great. At first glance we were a bit put off by the building and the hallways (I'd say a bit grim) but once you see the apartment it doesn't even matter: it is pretty, bright, safe, everyone in the building is nice... no complaints!
Make sure to go to the Dog and Duck Pub just behing the building, on Guadalupe, nice people, good atmosphere, huge choice of beers!
Also visit east Austin if you get a chance!
