Juan Carlos was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. The space was very nice inside and I loved the decor! The building and street were a little noisy, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Location is within walking distance of downtown and UT, which is fantastic.
Great open space with a second story view, nice little kitchen equipped with anything you'd need. Really close to downtown and the UT Austin strip, to which you can easily bike to with the two great bikes provided for free(with locks and helmets). We had a great time here and at a good price!
Great location, clean, and just what we needed for a weekend in Austin, while not spending much time at the apartment. Close to UT campus and a stones throw from a couple of cool bars. I recommend.
The apartment was clean and very practical, and really close to the center, which is great. At first glance we were a bit put off by the building and the hallways (I'd say a bit grim) but once you see the apartment it doesn't even matter: it is pretty, bright, safe, everyone in the building is nice... no complaints!
Make sure to go to the Dog and Duck Pub just behing the building, on Guadalupe, nice people, good atmosphere, huge choice of beers!
Also visit east Austin if you get a chance!
Great place and great location. Most of downtown Austin is easily walkable, though you won't see many other pedestrians until you get into the more densely populated areas.
The apartment is pretty spare, but it's got everything you'd need.
This was the perfect place for my boyfriend and I to stay for our first time in Austin. JuanCarlos thought of everything! His instructions to access the studio were clear and timely, we loved using the two bikes to get around town and the kitchen/bathroom were stocked with all the essentials. Thanks again for being a great host, JC!
Juan Carlos is a very kind host and made checking in and out very easy.
The apartment location is awesome. The walk to 6th St is very easy. In addition, the apartment came with parking so that made exploring further away areas much easier.
The apartment and building are a bit run-down, but the apartment was very clean and the decorations and furnishings were nice. The two bikes being available is a nice touch as well.
I think the biggest downside to this place is the thin walls. We could hear neighbors at all hours. We aren't light sleepers, so this wasn't an issue for us.
Juan Carlos was a very attentive host, checking up on me a few times while I was there.
As you've probably read in other reviews the building is indeed a little run down, but the apartment is fine and very conveniently located right next to the drag and not far from downtown.
Having a bike available totally made my trip to Austin. The city is pretty bike friendly (for US standards anyway) and very few places are out of casual cycling distance from the apartment. I barely ever needed to drive anywhere. Also, great exercise to burn down all that amazing BBQ and those food truck meals.
My boyfriend & I stayed here loved the apartment ! Very close to everything downtown, 6th street it was raining but the taxi to everything was less then 5 bucks every trip ! JuanCarlos was great host and left a rose on the bed also gives you two bikes to use !
Will definitely be coming back !!
Thanks again JuanCarlos !
Juan Carlos' place was great, and just as advertised. It was clean, tastefully decorated, and having the bike to ride around was really helpful (there are two bikes available). The location was convenient as well.
