Myself and four friends organised a 10 day break to Mexico and stayed in Marielle's apartment. We loved being there and didn't want to leave. The apartment is huge and had all of the facilities we needed. The apartment is nicely located out of Playa so very quiet and peaceful. We only walked into Playa Del Carmen once from the apartment and it took around 25 minutes and in the heat we didn't want to do it again. You can order a taxi from the complex which will cost you 3 times more than if you walk out to the front gates and flag one down - they come often.
The beach front view was incredible to wake up to each morning. The staff around the complex were all very polite and helpful. The common pool area was lovely and relaxing. It was lovely having a hot tub on the balcony. The cleaners who came in a couple of time during our stay did a wonderful job.
I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.
What a fantastic place! There was nothing between us and the ocean except for the ocean breeze! Marielle was very easy to communicate with and when she was not available she left contact information for two other people in case we needed it.
All that said, there is room for improvement on the place. Although everything LOOKS really nice, the bed was increabibly uncomfortable and the couch as well. You'd sit on it and you slip right off of it! And the bed was really really really hard. Our travel companions like a hard bed and even they were complaining about how hard it was. I was considering sleeping at the beach club beach beds because those were awesome! The condo is very new and I think they are still getting some things straighten out... One thing that needs immidiate attention is that the electrical system of the condo needs to be fixed! During the entire stay, we did not turn off the light in the dinning area because the switch didn't work. Also if you plugged in the water filter the general circuit would pop. Same with the oven - the oven circuit was tripped by... still haven't figured it out. Luckly we figured out that it was an easy fix for us to deal with. But paying prime rate ($400+) during the holidays time you expect not to deal with little incoveniences like that.
We also had an issue with the transportation company that they arranged for us at the end of the trip (no show and replacement van only showing up 45 minutes later than the arranged time. And that only happened because we called Marielle's emmergency contact otherwise they would not have a clue. Since it was all arranged through marielle's company we did not have the transportation company contact or any information) but they told me that they are no longer working with that company.
We go to the Yucatan every year and I would love to go back there as the location was magnificent and the condominium Mareazul was great but this condo needs to be improved.
We appreciate your comments Valentina. As a guest, you are expected to report any inconvenience you experience during your stay. Our apartment was inspected prior to your arrival, and the electrical problem you endured were unfortunately not foreseeable. Yet, you failed to EVER report it to me or any of the staff, though you were contacted by me a couple of hours after check in to remind you to reach out to me for anything you needed during your stay. Keeping silent and keeping things to yourself such as your experience with the electricity were only detrimental to you as a guest, since we you never reported them. Our guests comfort is primordial to us. We don't expect any tenant to ever lift a single finger to fix anything, but rather let us know so we can have them remedied as fast as possible. Had you reached out to me and let me know any of those inconvenience they would have been addressed in a timely manner. We don't believe it's fair for you to state you've had to deal with inconvenience, when they where NEVER reported.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
