The Space

QUIET, CREATIVE SPACE, GARDEN GUEST HOUSE - CLOSE TO EVERYTHING (Seriously -close to just about everything you want to see in Los Angeles!)
Why stay in a hotel or even a room in someone else's home, when for the same price (or less) you can have complete privacy in an incredible space.
Location: Private guest house which is centrally located in the Culver City/mid-Wilshire adjacent area of Los Angeles. 10 minutes from the charm of Larchmont Village and Paramount Studios, 15 minutes from downtown LA and 7 minutes to Beverly Hills or Culver City. Walking distance to Venice Boulevard which is serviced by major bus lines going east and west., and La Cienega for North/South bus. I've lived her since 1993 and find it to be safe & a typical urban middle class family residential area.
Description: The guest house is a newly remodeled 1 room with bathroom and wetbar with its own entry and patio. It is completely detached from the main house ensuring total privacy and is located in a fully gated/fenced backyard.
My guests are ensured of their privacy and comfort. I am a relatively new AirBnb Host, but I am a professional Travel Host in my daily life and considered one of the top travel hosts with over 1,000 positive reviews from guests on trips I have hosted for that company. I want to make my guests feel at home, and if it is possible for me to pick you up from the airport I'm happy to. I love hosting people of all ages and from all parts of the globe. I grew up in Yokohama, Japan and come from an Irish-American heritage, and appreciate all cultures.
Features include:
• Lovely and comfortable FULL sized bed with fresh linens on arrival.
• Large desk area.
• Newly designed all tile bathroom with a double head shower (no tub).
Soft and fluffy towels and a hair dryer and iron (upon request) and ironing board are provided (upon request).
• It is bright and cheerful.
• The wet bar has a small refrigerator, microwave, electric tea kettle, toaster, dishes, glasses, cups, cutlery etc.
• Free broadband wireless.
• Heat (space), no air conditioning (generally not needed considering location to beach & coastal breeze) but has two ceiling fans (if we have a heat wave then it does get hot, but it's rare for this area not to get cold at night... but then again I can't control weather).
• Steam cleaned between guests to reduce allergens for those who suffer from seasonal allergies.
*Laundry Room on property with coin operated MayTag washer & dryer.
I require a $200 refundable damage/security deposit and a departure cleaning fee (priced as listed with Airbnb) – both amounts are handled through Airbnb. Cleaning fee does not include taking out your trash or doing dishes. If bags of trash or dirty dishes are left or place is excessively dirty additional cleaning fees will be deducted from security deposit. I will provide you with my housekeepers phone number should you want to hire her services during your stay, but also some cleaning supplies are in the unit so you can do your own cleaning if you're here for an extended stay. Extended stay guest here for 30 days or more will be required to pay for mid-stay cleaning every 14 days and will be charged $55 per cleaning through Airbnb 'Special Amenities'.
NO SMOKING inside the house- but you may smoke outside just don't leave butts around.
No pets please - I'm doing my best to keep allergy free units.
To keep your Airbnb fees down the 14% LA CITY HOTEL TAX on stays 29 days or less must be paid in cash upon arrival. Stays of 30 or more days are considered a rental by the city so are not subject to the tax.
I require photos and profiles from all guests - I will not process a booking without this.
Check out 10am check in 3pm but flexible to individual needs if doable.

Guest Access

The space is separate from the main house. Guest has access to the backyard, shared space and the outdoor BBQ/grills. Also, access to my coin-operated washer and dryer.

Interaction with Guests

I love people, but because the guest house is not attached to the main house often times the most I see of a guest is when I check them in. Especially if they are busy off doing things, but if they spend a lot of time in the garden and I see them I always say hi. I've also had guests that we make a point of doing things together; if I am going to a party of event & can invite others I generally extend the invitation & I have a few repeat guests that we just make plans to get together. I go with the flow & respect your reason for being here; if you are here to write a book or study for exams, work I will not bother you. If you are here to see sights & visit old friends & I can extend the invitation to something I will.

The Neighborhood

What I love about this neighborhood is it's diversity of cultures and how quiet it is considering it is in the middle of the city. I love that I feel safe and can take an early morning or evening walk. We are a lovely little cul-de-sac with 1920 style homes with commercial businesses just around the corner, the smell of freshly roasting coffee beans is what you will wake up to Monday thru Friday because I'm behind a gourmet coffee company!

Getting Around

Like most LAers I drive, but there are bus stops within a block of my house, the Metro has a big station not too far and many of my guests have rented or purchase bicycles for getting around. It's also easy to get a share ride with Uber or Lyft for reasonable price.

Other Things to Note

This is my home office, and on when I have guests I do my best to get what I need from there and work from inside the main house, but there is always a chance I might need access to a file; I will text you in advance & work out access that does not impose on you. The is very rare.

House Rules

I just ask that people be respectful; this is a quiet residential area so swinging from the ceiling fans & crazy partying isn't going to make friends. No one that is not named in the reservation is allowed on the property, so no guests unknown to me.

NO smoking, drugs or parties.

I have a booklet in the room that tries to answer any questions you may have, gives you the lay-of-the-land so to speak.

Lately, I've had a few guests who have totally moved everything, so if you find a need to rearrange or move items I ask that you please replace them as you found them before checking out, and to please check with me before you start; this is my home office and file cabinets and certain cupboards are off limits.

This is either your vacation or you're here for work/school and I want you to have the best experience possible.
