The Space

Clean, bright with an amazing view, this cozy one bedroom (king size) apartment (60 m2 or 645.8 sqft) is at the heart of the most fashionable area of Paris: the Marais (third district). The Marais hosts many outstanding buildings of historic and architectural importance.

The apartment is well located and only few minutes’ walk from Art Galleries, Shops, Restaurants and Bars which make this area such an attractive and fun place to stay. The apartment is also very close to public transports (Subway République, Temple and Art et Métier, busses and Velib stations are less than 5 minutes walk).

The apartment is located on the top floor (5th floor without lift) of a Parisian building facing a beautiful little park. We also have a nice mezzanine with one spare bed (Length: 1.90 cm, Width: 140 cm) if you want to have friends or family staying over with you. And one more extra maltress under the bed.

We have a high speed internet access, a washing machine and everything you need in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bathroom is huge, with separate toilet, and has a bath tub if you need to relax after having climb the Eiffel Tower. :-)

We have been in this place for years and never felt bored of it … the flat is cover with wood which makes it a very warm and romantic. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

  • This apartment was perfect for our needs. It was quite small, but well designed so that even our family of four could get some space from each other. The bedding was top quality, and the pantry well-stocked with staples such as olive oil. spices, tea and coffee, jam, cereal, plus more. Best of all, Dorothee has a great selection of Paris guides, books and street directories so you do not need to bring these. The neighbourhood was wonderful, with a terrific park and playground across the road that our four-year-old loved. We went there every day.The Monoprix supermarket was just across the road from the playground in Rue de Bretagne - we went there every day too! It was easy to get around on the nearby metro to all the key sites. The Jewish quarter, and Canal St Martin, both with great restaurants, bars and cafes, were within walking distance. The stairs were not a problem for us - in fact the four-year-old loved counting each and every one (up to 96!) whenever we left and returned to the apartment. Plus we loved being on the top floor with rooftop views. The only thing is you need to be organised to get all your luggage down the narrow, spiral staircase if you are expecting a taxi, as we were the morning we left. Dororthee accommodated our request for an early check-in, however we had a problem with our phones on our first day in Paris, so we did not find out about this until we arrived at the apartment two hours late to find Nessa had been waiting for us all that time. An earlier confirmation by email would have made our first day in Paris much less stressful. Apart from that, everything worked well for us, and we would definitely love to return some day! The Marais is a thriving area that does not feel too touristy or unsafe, but still has a slightly gritty, 'real' feel - a perfect balance.

  • Nice top floor apartment (6th floor) in a good central location. Near the Arts et Métier and Temple metro stops, so it was convenient to go wherever we needed to go throughout Paris. We were a family of 5 and the apartment was just big enough for us. He landlords were responsive and helpful.

  • My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay at Dorothee's apartment. It was comfortable and clean, and had a lovely view of the park across the street and the rooftops of Paris. The neighborhood is busy but quaint and safe with many young families enjoying the park and people of all ages going about their day. There are cafes and bakeries as well as a larger grocery store and the food stalls at the Marche des Enfants Rouges all within a few blocks of the front door. At the end of our long days exploring the city, we would pick up some delicacies and a bottle of wine on our our way home to enjoy. The windows are bright and airy and allow a most refreshing breeze to flow through. The apartment is a 5 minute walk from the metro station and a 15 minute walk to the Seine. We'd take a different route each day, depending on which sites we wanted to see, giving us a more thorough impression of the city and all its neighborhoods. There are monuments, parks, courtyards, galleries, museums, restaurants, beautiful buildings, ancient alley ways, modern shops, old creaky-floored shops and open-air markets all over the place. All you need is a city map, a good pair of walking shoes and Dorothee's little apartment to rest your exhausted body after all that exploring and siteseeing. We'd stay here again and can't wait to return.

  • It was a very nice apartment in a wonderful location in Paris, the owners were kind enough to send a lot of useful information for us. Thanks , we had a great time!

  • The apartment is wonderful, just as pictured. We slept 5 people comfortably, although two in the loft is a little cozy. Dorothee was very quick to respond to any of our needs, and was helpful when our arrival time fell outside her normal window. Her housekeeper, Nessa, was lovely and helpful as well. The neighborhood is absolutely perfect if you want to experience Paris more like a local than a tourist. There are about 100 steps to climb up to the flat, so if you're not physically fit, beware. However, the view of the park makes the climb more than worth it. I would absolutely stay here again.

  • We are just back from our 17 day trip to London and Paris. We were 2 adults and three boys ages 12, 10, and 8 staying in this flat. It was a really great 9 day stay. What a fantastic neighborhood. My husband was grateful for the sweet park across the street where he went to run and do yoga. I loved looking out the window and watching the neighbors enjoy running and practicing tai chi in their neighborhood park. The flat is close to three Metro stations and groceries and cafes and and and... It's bright and sunny and cozy. It was absolutely lovely. Nessa was there to meet us when we arrived and Dorthea checked in on us to make sure all was going smoothly. We felt totally comfortable, safe and taken care of. Thank you Nessa and Dorthea. We would totally stay at LeMarais again. (we miss the bakery around the corner already).

  • This was a very comfortable apartment with great views as promised. The location proved to be excellent as it was close to metros and in easy walking distance of some great places to eat and drink.
The 96 steps up to the apartment are very steep and certainly worked off all that yummy French cuisine. Dorothee was prompt and informative when asked for information about the apartment and the area. A most enjoyable stay.
