Lisa made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The cottage and the garden is a glorious sight to behold and the annexe is beautifully created to a high standard. The accommodation and the location are indeed a wonderful sanctuary in themselves but Lisa's careful attentiveness and generosity really made our stay very special.
Lisa was an exceptional host, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome. The facilities were superb and very well supplied. Can highly recommend and would definitely return.
Driving up through the village and arriving at the beautiful English country garden was the perfect arrival for our weekend away. The annex is stunning with a very comfortable bed, handy kitchenette and an ensuite. It's very calm, peaceful and relaxing. Lisa and her family were so welcoming and helped us with directions to the wedding we were off to. The perfect place to get ready for our friends wedding and then get some well deserved rest afterwards, with an amazing cooked breakfast to help refuel us!! Highly recommended.
Lisa was very helpful - extremely so - as I had not made a proper note of where our destination was and kept pestering her with texts and emails. We were in Dorset for an evening birthday party and the fun continued on our return to the annex as we could not resist snacks from the kitchen. Very decadent, and perfect to help ourselves in the morning when we were leaving in a rush. Why were we in a rush? Simple, the bed is SO comfortable that I simply did not want to get out of it! Even the beautiful sound of church bells could not make me move. The accommodation has been done with a great deal of thought and a considerable amount of taste. Quite simply, loved it, and would be perfectly happy in this beautiful place for several days.
Lisa was prompt and extremely helpful when booking the accommodation - very useful as it was pretty much at the last minute. She gave us excellent directions to the picturesque village where she lives. The one-bedroomed annexe nestles in a quiet corner of the most beautiful garden full of flowers and shrubs. The annexe itself is tastefully decorated and appointed with everything you could possibly wish for. Including such a well-stocked fridge of tasty goodies that we decided not to venture forth for a meal, but instead to feast on the cheese and ham, bread, strawberries, chocolate and local cider she had thoughtfully provided. Breakfast was also catered for a choice of bread and cereals. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer! Lisa is a charming, helpful, friendly host and the lovely annexe a secret retreat. We will certainly visit again in the future.
Lisa could not have been more welcoming and friendly, the accommodation itself is separate to the main house and private with a very comfortable bed and very well equipped with some very nice treats. She has two adorable dogs and a lovely cat who love to be played with on the front lawn which is surrounded by a stunning cottage garden, all very tranquil and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay so much that we even extended our stay another night. We would highly recommend Lisa and her lovely accommodation.
We had a wonderful stay in the cottage following a wedding we attended in the village. The accommodation provided everything we could wish for and more, Lisa was a delightful host. Would thoroughly recommend.
About the Host, Lisa
Hello, I'm Lisa... I'm English and American. Born and lived until 30 in California, in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. I helped move my parents back to their homeland, and have lived here ever since, in Surrey and for several years in Dorset. Steve is from Dorset, though lived in Switzerland for many years, which has become a favourite place to visit. I'd love to travel further.
I am mum to two gorgeous daughters, Melissa and Elisabeth. My degrees are in Art and Architecture, and I've worked mainly in Architecture and Interior Design. I enjoy the great outdoors in Dorset, playing with the girls, a variety of arts and culture, and we both love to cook and entertain friends, old and new.
Will consider and write more soon...
