Huge Room, Center of Green Zagorje

House - Private room · Ljudevita Gaja, Bedekovčina, Krapina-Zagorje, Croatia

The Space

The room is located on the upper floor of our house. The room has a single bed and a sofa bed that serves another single bed. It is also en-suited with a bathroom. There is a spacious balcony within the room that looks out to the neighborhood. Wireless connection is available in the room.

The house is located in a small town called Bedekovcina in Krapina-Zagorje County of Croatia. It's 50 kilometers from Zagreb, and is very green and peaceful. Krapina-Zagorje County is very rich of cultural heritage sites since it was once part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Therefore, beautiful castles, palaces and museums are around such as Veliki Tabor, Trakoscan, Neanderthal Museum Krapina, Kumrovec Tito Museum, etc.

Getting around

Our house is around five minutes walking distance from the train station. The train goes to the direction of Zagreb (the capital city of Croatia) and to Varaždin (the ancient capital of Croatia).

During the weekend we could show around our guests if desired.

  • Wonderful stay! We were greeted by the whole family even though we arrived three hours later than we said we would (sorry!) and treated like visiting friends rather than airbnb strangers. The space was big and the loft-style bed area was a perfect spot for our daughter to sleep. Some amazing sites are nestled in this area on both the Croatian and Slovene sides, and this apartment is a great, affordable (and incredibly friendly!) base for exploration.

  • We had such a great time staying with Anastaysa and Christian. The room is huge and comfy and they had all kinds of great suggestions for fun things to do. Our daughters really enjoyed playing with their niece and nephew, but our 2 year old's favorite Croatian memory will probably be watching Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse with Auntie Anastaysa. We have been traveling for nearly four months now and this was definitely one of our top experiences!

  • I was touring the country, sightseeing in Zagreb and since my next destination was the Krapina Museum of Homo neanderthalensis, I decided to lodge somewhere closer to town of Krapina and nature instead of the noisy city.

As Luck would have it, I found this En-suited room half way from Zagreb to Krapina hosted by Lady Anastasya.

Needless to say, lodging was an excellent experience of the locals hospitality and beautiful countryside of Croatia. I slept like a baby in a well kept, clean and airy room with access to all essential traveler needs, including Internet access to satisfy my informational needs.

Anastasya is a great hostess with extended knowledge of local tourist destinations and attractions. She provided me with additional information and helped me decide in which direction I headed next.

I thank Anastasya and Airbnb for such a great service.

Krapina Museum is as great as they claim, I hope to return again in the future.
