Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Nestled in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley- Welcome to The Hundred Acre Wood, a sweet retreat from the hectic every day. Relax and connect with nature in Pooh’s cozy A-frame. Because doing nothing often leads to the very best something.

Prep meals in the new kitchen, work remotely (if you must), and stream movies. Hang out on the deck or at the firepit enjoying mountain, river and valley views. Spend afternoons hiking countless trails nearby. But most of all, come do a little bit of nothing.

The space
This A-frame has a living area with high ceilings, a wood stove and cozy furnishings to relax and watch the 55" TV. The kitchen has recently been remodeled and provides a lovely space to cook and make specialty coffee or tea at the coffee bar. Upstairs, there is a loft bedroom with a comfy queen bed and views of the mountains. Nothing better than to wake up with a view!

Guest access
You'll have entire property to yourself during your stay! There is an adorable treehouse on the property that we plan to renovate and offer to guests, but unfortunately, it's not quite ready for guests at this time.

Please note that the property is 0.75 acres and please respect neighbors’ properties.

Other things to note
This cabin offers privacy due to its remote, rural location, only accessed by a steep gravel road. We do recommend 4WD or AWD, especially in the winter when snow is possible. You’ll realize the trip is worth it though, once you see those views!

Multiple hikes are just a short drive away!!

Neighborhood highlights

The Hundred Acre Wood at Valley View is located in a wooded, private neighborhood secured by a gate/chain with code access. Our cabin is on a mountain ridge off of a gravel road. The road is very steep at certain spots. Your car may have trouble getting up and down, especially with bad weather, so we just like to make things perfectly clear. If you want the view, you have to drive up! You’ll realize the trip is worth it though, once you see those valley, river and mountain views!
If it has been raining, your car will get dirty. You will need 4 wheel drive and groceries if you are lucky enough to get snow.
No refunds are given for weather so please check the forecast before you travel.
You are traveling to the mountains. The cellular service in the area is spotty, so please come prepared with map screenshots or printouts and don't rely on the cellular data/wifi outside of the cabin when you venture out.

Directions:
-From US 340 S., make a left on Compton Hollow Road
-Follow Compton Hollow Road for approximately 2.2 miles
-Left on deer Haven Road and drive 0.75 miles to the chain/gate.
-Enter code on keypad to lower the chain. If the keypad is malfunctioning and does not open the chain, you can use the same code to open the padlock combination padlock on the right side of the chain.
-This is where the road gets very steep. Please be careful and use four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive
-Stay to the right at the fork in the road
-The red A-frame will be on your right.
-If you get to the dead end turnaround, you have gone too far. Please park in the gravel parking spaces in front of the house.
-When leaving, you can back out of those spots and go up to the turn around for an easier exit

Please note that the property is 0.75 acres and please respect neighbors’ properties. Multiple hikes are just a short drive away!!
